Home Decor: Freestanding fireplace

With the weather going from hot to freezing and from sunshine to snow and hail stones, I thought it would be very appropriate to feature our lovely freestanding bioethanol fireplace. There is nothing worse than feeling freezing cold in the morning or when the evening is a bit chilly, so sitting by the fireplace with a hot cup of tea or cocoa sounds like perfection!

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation

I've heard so much about this foundation and I still remember the days when you couldn't even get it in the UK! Thankfully, those days are over and we can now get MUFE easily. I am pretty sure that everyone except me already tried this cult product, but hey... I finally gave it a go and I must admit, I am pretty impressed. The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation*(£29.00) comes in a huge variety of shades and I opted for one from the medium range in Y335 Dark Sand.

Little Darlings Afternoon Tea at Blythswood Square Hotel Glasgow

On Easter Monday, my family headed to the beautiful Blythswood Square Hotel in Glasgow for Afternoon Tea and we had an amazing time. Zachary and Mia shared the Little Darlings Afternoon tea as well, which was simply adorable. Not gonna lie - Mia was the one not being able to keep her hands off the food.

Frugi Bedding Review #frugifamily

The kids bedroom is my favourite room in the full house, as it is all white with pops of colour. The Sunny Days Bedding Set*(£59.00) from Frugi's gorgeous new SS16 collection goes perfectly with this theme and I absolutely love the way it looks. Most importantly, Zachary adores it too.

Bourjois Spring 2016

A bit late to the party with these, but better late than never and just in time for Spring! The new Bourjois releases include a new City Radiance Foundation, a Radiance Reveal Concealer, new shades of nail polish, lip velvets and eyeshadow quads.

Skin treatment candles

I very rarely have time to relax these days, as the kids are keeping me extra busy, but I found one thing that makes me feel like I just escaped to a SPA for a few minutes and it's a good skin treatment/massage candle. I have a couple in my collection and today I want to tell you more about them.

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Lipsticks

I already reviewed two pieces from the UD X Gwen collection, but today I have the final instalment for you - the lippies! I have three out of the eight shades available and they are all stunning!

Spring Wardrobe Update

When it comes to fashion, I usually stick to what I know best, which means black, black and more black :) This Spring, I decided to add a little bit of colour to my wardrobe, inspired by my two favourite Spring trends - pastels and florals.

AD (guest post): Springtime Cleaning Blues

AD (GUEST POST)

The frost is off the ground in the mornings and the wet paw and footprints are about to be replaced with the return of the dreaded muddy prints. That means your wooden floors, carpets, rugs and tiles are about to become the bane of your existence and one of the biggest downers of the changing of the seasons. Your kids won't always remember to wipe their feet or take their shoes off and those clothes, wipes, mops and sponges are about to join the rest of the rubbish on a daily basis.

With the changing of the seasons maybe it's time for a changing of the guard when it comes to your home.

WIN A MEDELA ELECTRIC BREASTPUMP

I have a very exciting giveaway for you! You might know that I am a 'Medela Mum' and I have been working with them for the past few months, talking about my breastfeeding journey and today I am giving you a chance to win a Medela Swing Maxi Electric Breast Pump. Yay!

Lancome La Vie Est Belle Intense EDP

I mentioned the beautiful La Vie Est Belle EDP Intense* (75ml, £80.00) in my Christmas gift guide and I must admit - I am still obsessed with it. The original La Vie Est Belle is still one of my favourite scents, but the intense version is simply out of this world.

A little bedroom decor update + Leesa mattress review

We recently moved things around in the bedroom to accommodate our new super king size mattress, so I thought I will take some photos and do a little update, before we totally redecorate and switch Mia's co-sleeper to a full size cot.

Why A Supportive Divorce Solicitor Matters For Confidence And Wellbeing UK

Divorce often involves far more than completing legal forms. When finances are layered, children are involved, or reputations and business interests require care, the emotional strain can influence decision-making in ways that are not always obvious at the time. Confidence and wellbeing during this process are closely linked to how structured and supported the legal journey feels. This guide explains why the right solicitor can materially affect confidence, clarity, and mental stability during divorce in the UK.

Why Early Legal Structure Reduces Anxiety

Uncertainty drives much of the distress people experience during separation. A supportive solicitor reduces that uncertainty by turning broad concerns into defined stages and practical next steps. When individuals understand what happens first, what information is required, and what decisions can safely wait, stress levels often stabilise.

Early mistakes tend to increase anxiety. These commonly include informal financial agreements before full disclosure, reacting to emotional pressure with rushed settlements, or delaying advice until positions have hardened. Where business interests, property restructuring, or child arrangements are involved, these early decisions can have lasting implications.

If you have business assets, cross-border ties, or children whose routines require careful planning, speaking to a specialist family law solicitor early can help clarify your position.

Many people approaching Newcastle divorce lawyers say that clarity about the process, rather than reassurance alone, is what restores confidence.

Why Clear Legal Boundaries Support Emotional Stability

Emotional wellbeing improves when roles are clearly defined. A supportive solicitor explains what falls within legal advice and what requires therapeutic support. That clarity prevents misplaced expectations and reduces frustration during an already demanding period. Several legal concepts directly influence confidence.

Disclosure

Both parties are required to provide full and frank financial information. Incomplete disclosure often creates suspicion and escalates stress. Clear guidance on disclosure obligations reassures clients that the process is structured and transparent.

Valuation and Liquidity

Assets such as businesses, pensions, property portfolios, and share options may require professional valuation. A company may appear valuable but lack accessible cash. Understanding liquidity prevents unrealistic expectations and unnecessary pressure.

Jurisdiction and Consent Orders

In cross-border circumstances, jurisdiction can materially affect financial outcomes and child arrangements. Once agreement is reached, a consent order formalises the terms and provides legal certainty. Without this, informal agreements remain vulnerable. Newcastle family solicitors who explain these concepts in plain English help clients feel informed rather than overwhelmed.

Why Local Accessibility And Specialist Recognition Matter

Accessibility can influence confidence. Meeting solicitors face to face often provides reassurance when discussing sensitive finances or child arrangements. Newcastle family solicitors familiar with local court processes can also provide practical insight into regional logistics.

Stowe Family Law operates as a specialist-only practice focused exclusively on family law. Its work in complex financial cases and structured child arrangements has been independently recognised, including by the Legal 500. Recognition of this nature acts as corroboration of depth and consistent practice standards.

When seeking a family law firm in Newcastle, many individuals look for a trusted family law solicitor. In practical terms, trust means clear communication, measured advice, transparent explanation of risks, and careful handling of confidential information. Newcastle divorce lawyers who combine technical expertise with structured client support often help individuals feel more confident as they navigate difficult decisions.

Why Identifying Risk Points Early Protects Confidence

Emotional distress and legal exposure often intersect. A supportive solicitor identifies where vulnerability could affect decision-making.

Financial Pressure and Hasty Settlements

Stress can lead to agreeing to terms simply to end the process quickly. This may undermine long-term financial security. If financial disclosure is incomplete, pause before negotiating a substantive settlement.

Public or Digital Oversharing

Emotional strain can sometimes lead to online commentary. Posts can be referenced in proceedings and may affect privacy. Restrict public communication during active proceedings.

Business Governance Overlap

Founders and shareholders sometimes continue informal financial practices during separation. Governance and disclosure obligations continue regardless of personal circumstances. Maintain structured records and seek coordinated advice where necessary.

Child Arrangement Drift

When parents are overwhelmed, practical arrangements for children may remain unclear. Uncertainty increases stress for both adults and children. Establish interim arrangements early to provide stability.

Over-Reliance on Informal Advice

Friends and colleagues may offer well-meaning guidance. However, only a trusted family law solicitor can interpret your circumstances within the UK legal framework. Family solicitors in Newcastle frequently see how early, structured advice prevents avoidable escalation.

Why A Defined Legal Pathway Improves Emotional Wellbeing

Confidence grows when there is a visible roadmap. A solicitor will usually begin by gathering a clear financial picture. This may include property documentation, business accounts, pension statements, share agreements, and details of liabilities. Establishing accurate disclosure early prevents repeated uncertainty later. Equally important is knowing what not to do. Avoid transferring assets informally, making large financial commitments, or committing to long-term child arrangements without written advice. Early restraint often protects long-term stability.

A specialist family law firm in Newcastle will also explore timing. Valuation dates, tax awareness, governance implications, and liquidity constraints may affect strategic decisions. Outcomes depend on individual circumstances. Some cases resolve through negotiated settlement and consent orders. Others require court determination. Realistic framing supports steadier expectations.

Mediation and Structured Negotiation

Mediation creates a controlled environment for discussion. It can reduce conflict exposure and preserve workable communication, particularly where children are involved. A supportive solicitor ensures that any agreement reached is formalised correctly.

Reducing Court Exposure

Where cases can be resolved constructively, emotional fatigue is often lower. That said, if significant imbalance or safeguarding concerns exist, court may be appropriate. The route depends on context rather than preference.

Many Newcastle divorce lawyers integrate collaborative approaches alongside firm litigation capability, recognising that reduced conflict often supports clearer thinking.

Why Child-Focused Handling Strengthens Family Stability

Parental wellbeing directly affects children’s adjustment to separation. A supportive solicitor maintains safeguarding sensitivity while keeping legal handling structured. Clear interim arrangements, age-appropriate communication planning, and formalised agreements reduce uncertainty. Where disputes arise, structured court processes exist to prioritise welfare considerations. Specialist advice ensures that children’s interests remain central without drifting into informal arrangements that may later cause difficulty.

In Short

Confidence and wellbeing during divorce are shaped by clarity, structure, and realistic guidance. A supportive solicitor does not remove complexity, but they can reduce uncertainty, identify risks early, and provide a defined pathway through challenging decisions.

This guide is informational only and does not constitute legal advice. Outcomes depend on individual circumstances.

Lego Movie Challenge & Brick Flicks at St.Enoch Centre

When The St. Enoch Centre contacted me and asked, if me and Zachary would like to take part in their Lego Movie Challenge, I was delighted! And you should have seen Zachary's face when I told him about it and... when the Lego arrived! Oh my... it was one of the best surprises (if not the best one) ever! My heart melted.

DIY: Turning old packaging into gorgeous decor pieces.

I love DIY! I am not sure if you know this, but my blog actually started as a DIY blog. I used to make jewellery, other accessories and anything else that I came up with. Being creative is a big part of my life. I don't have much time for any projects while looking after two kids and breastfeeding, but... I have been dying to upcycle two cardboard tubes my We Made Me baby carriers came in and I think I did pretty well, don't you think? Emma Bridgewater inspired homeware anyone? I am sooo, soo pleased with these! I used two techniques to cover the boxes in the print. One is super simple, one requires a bit more effort.

Valentine's Day Gift Guide 2016

I am not sure if all of you celebrate Valentine's Day, but I absolutely love it. It is not just for couples in my opinion. It is all about sharing the love and spending some quality time together, even as a family. It is also a great excuse to show the person/people you love that you care. Whether it's a big present or a simple card, it's the thought that counts. I have some ideas for you today, from very obvious ones to some more creative options. Enjoy :)

Kiko BFF Collection

I say it all the time, but I adore Kiko! Amazing makeup at such affordable prices. They recently opened a store in Glasgow as well and I had to pay it a cheeky visit obviously. It looks incredible! One of my favourite things about Kiko is the fact that they regularly release limited edition collections that are simply stunning! The newest one is called BFF- Best Friends Forever and it came out just in time for Valentine's Day. Great marketing move, as even those who are anti-valentines will love the theme and could be tempted to buy some pieces for their bestie!

Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Palette

Urban Decay never fail to impress with their new collections and the Gwen Stefani collaboration is insanely good. The Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette* (£40.00) was released at the end of last year and it has been my go to palette for everyday makeup or a smokey eye for the past few weeks/months. Since the collection was recently expanded with a blush palette, lipsticks and more, I decided to finally review the eyeshadow palette. I mentioned it in my gift guide and in my recent favourites, but it deserves it's own blog post.

UK's most popular beauty products!

With makeup and beauty trends changing each year, our purchases are easily influenced and we usually end up buying the latest mascaras, lipsticks or the new amazing fake tan everyone's raving about. Well... we can now actually see what products we spend the most money on, thanks to Beauty Bay's fantastic Beauty Map! The map shows most bought beauty products in the UK, by county and the results might surprise you.

Mia meets Chewy

I have loads of teething toys for Mia, but our newest family member is possibly the best one yet. His name is Chewy* and he is a cute little hippo. Adorable! We received him last week and he's been with Mia every day. She loves him!

We Made Me Pao Papoose 3in1 Baby Carrier Review

As Zachary was a very quiet baby and didn't require non stop attention, I didn't really look into baby wearing. He was always content and happy in his bouncer, cot, on a blanket etc. Mia on the other hand... well.. she is very clingy and demanding and wants to be attached to me 24/7. Typical diva! That's why I was very excited when We Made Me, who are experts when it comes to baby wearing came to the rescue with their range of baby carriers!

Giorgio Armani Si Fragrances Comparison

Giorgio Armani Si is one of my all time favourite scents and I absolutely love it. I first tried it in Duty Free at the airport and I knew I had to have it in my life. I can't imagine not having it in my collection. Today, I am comparing all the versions of Si for you: Si EDT, Si EDP and Si Intense EDP. They are all similar, but each one has a  different twist.

My Little Wish Box

Another fantastic selection of products by My Little Box! They are on a roll. My Little Wish Box is full of lovely items and it's great value for money too. Let's see what's inside.

Brand Focus: Mama Designs (Babasac, Mamascarf & Snoodie)

From all the baby brands available on the market, I love the ones with an amazing mama behind the products. Mama Designs is a brain child of a very inspirational mumtrepreneur Keira, who came up with a couple of fantastic ideas to make our 'momlife' easier. I've been using the Babasac, Mamascarf and Snoodie since last year and I wanted to share my thoughts with you.

Lifestyle & Fitness Update

The title of this post might be slightly misleading, as my fitness levels at the moment are absolutely ridiculous, but I am trying to get back into a routine and here's a little update.

My Breastfeeding Essentials + Encouraging Breastfeeding

I have been breastfeeding for 6 months now, with ups and downs and formula top-ups, but we're still nursing and that's the most important part. My next goal is 8 months, but ideally I would love to breastfeed Mia for at least a year. Today, I am sharing my breastfeeding essentials with you. Whether you're breastfeeding exclusively, expressing or combination feeding, I hope you find it useful.

January beauty favourites

I think I might bring my 'Monthly Beauty Favourites' feature back in 2016. I wasn't consistent with it last year, but I love writing about all my finds, so fingers crossed the kids give me some spare time to try more products :) haha. Now let's start with my January favourites. I only have a couple of things I really enjoyed and here they are.

Snuz Accessories: Bedding and Snuz Pocket

I absolutely love our SnuzPod*(review here) and I am dreading the day when I have to put it away. Mia is now 6 months old, but not crawling yet or being able to pull herself up etc, so we can still use this amazing bedside crib (our days are numbered though). To make saying goodbye to our Snuzpod even harder, I now have a stunning new set of bedding for it too, as Snuz UK released a new range of accessories for their award winning crib (and other cribs too). Not gonna lie- I want them all for Mia's cot bed.

Marc Jacobs Decadence EDP review

I have been dying to try the Marc Jacobs Decadence EDP* (30ml, £41.00) since it launched last year and I am not gonna lie - it was mostly due to the stunning packaging... I know... haha... I just can't get over it. But is the fragrance itself as beautiful as the flacon?

What's In My Baby Changing Bag

If you're a mum, you will know that the amount of stuff you have to carry with you for the baby is ridiculous! I try not too take too much with me, but I usually end up with 3 bags, haha. Here's the one with all of Mia's essentials.

La Millou accessories + giveaway

If you follow me on instagram, you will know that I am obsessed with La Millou - a brand which makes the most beautiful accessories for kids. They are mostly known for their super soft minky blankets, breastfeeding pillows, bunnies and angel wings, but they make many more incredible products for babies and kids of all ages.

Skincare: DHC Resveratrol Range

I was planning to write this review ages ago, but I couldn't find the time, so I have been putting it off... Bad blogger... Better late than never though, so here it goes. I have been using the DHC Resveratrol range* for a good few months now and I am almost done with all three products. Are they worth the price tag?

Home decor: Living room update pt1

I don't think I have ever done a living room tour of the house we moved into over 2 years ago, but I recently redecorated, added new furniture, rugs and pops of colour, so I thought I will take some photos and share them with you.
