3 Refreshing Drinks With Alpro Coconut

As a self confessed coconut addict, I couldn't wait to give Alpro's new coconut milk a go! Armed with a cocktail shaker, a sparkly martini glass, a blender and a booklet full of yummy recipes, I was ready to try some new flavour combinations.

Vitamix: Vegan Ice Cream + Frozen Desserts

I am still obsessed with my Vitamix Pro 500* and I even got my husband into trying many of my creations. This instalment is all about frozen desserts, including healthy ice cream and smoothie bowls. They are super easy to create and taste AMAZING!

Refreshing Cold Drinks For Summer (with Vitamix)

Since the weather improved slightly, I have been experimenting with non alcoholic cocktails and frozen coffees and I created some really lovely combinations. Most of them are completely clean and healthy, but I do use Monin Syrups sometimes to add more flavour. PS. If you have been waiting for my Frozen Coconut Latte recipe, you don't have to wait any longer :)

NEW PG Tips Fruit, Herbal and Green Teas

I don't really drink a lot of black tea, but when I do, I opt for PG Tips. I am a massive fan of green, herbal and fruit teas though, so imagine my excitement when I was sent a hamper full of all the new PG Tips flavours! Tea heaven! :) The fruit and herbal range is priced at £1.19 and the green teas cost £1.29 per pack of 20.

Healthy Vegan Rafaello Bonbons

I used to love Rafaello so much, but I can’t eat it anymore, so I finally decided to make a raw vegan version! I can happily report, that my first attempt was a success and I can now enjoy (raw and vegan) Rafaello again! *does happy dance, screams and cries with happy tears*.

Whole Food Juicing (without wasting precious fibre)

I own a decent juicer and I am a self confessed carrot juice addict but removing the fibre from fruit and vegetables breaks my heart and I see it as an absolute waste of something our body really needs, plus... juicing fruit means that you end up drinking a glass full of sugar! That's why I have been making more 'juices' in the Vitamix Pro 500 and I must admit - most of them are absolutely delicious.

More breakfast ideas with Alpro

I already shared one #alprotops blog post this week (HERE), but this one is much more exciting, because you actually get to see more ideas for yummy, nutritious and balanced breakfasts. I always get excited about my breakfast and I  think about it before I fall asleep the night before :) haha. I just love healthy food. If you are stuck in a rut and need some ideas to shake it up, give some (or all) of the 7 combinations I created a go.

Breakfast inspiration with Alpro #alprotops

If you follow my food instagram account, you might have seen my breakfast creations with Alpro yogurts. I was kindly sent a hamper with some of their products and an amazing pack of toppings to shake up my breakfast routine and experiment with various ingredients. As a big fan of Alpro Simply Plain, I couldn't wait to try more flavours and I must admit- they are absolutely delicious!

Homemade Nut Milks with Vitamix

I eliminated cows milk from my diet about 2-3 years ago, but I do eat small amounts of yogurt or cheese occasionally. Everything in moderation is perfectly fine in my opinion. I replaced cows milk with almond or hazelnut milk and my brand of choice is usually Alpro. I also love coconut milk and I use it with porridge and in everyday cooking. Yum! When I was sent the Vitamix Pro 500* to try, I was really excited about making my own nut milks. It is much cheaper and you know exactly what goes into it. No additives, no added sugar, just fresh, delicious homemade milk! I was also sick of running out of nut milk, so this is life changing for me :) Soo... how do you make nut milk? It's super easy!

Vitamix Pro 500 - introduction.

I have been thinking of buying a Vitamix blender/food processor for a while, so imagine my excitement when I was kindly sent the Vitamix Pro 500* to try out for a 6 month period. As you can see, I actually used it before taking photos, because I simply couldn't wait to give it a go! This post is a quick introduction, but I will be adding a proper review and many recipe post in the near future.

Quick Noodle Soup Recipe

Hi everyone. I hope you are having a lovely, relaxed Sunday :) As promised, here is the recipe for my favourite noodle soup I mentioned on Instagram a couple of times. I can't take all the credit for it though, because it was originally  my husbands creation. He made it for me when I was ill a couple of months ago and I have been making it at least twice a week since then, adding my own twist to it and trying different flavours. It is really quick to make (takes about 20 minutes), filling and relatively healthy, depending on the ingredients you use.

Fitbit Flex Review. Is it worth the price tag?

I am obsessed with my Polar FT4 Fitness Watch and it was the best investment ever, so I was very excited to try the Fitbit Flex* when I received it as a gift recently. It is a little device designed to track steps, distance, and calories burned and help you achieve your daily goals. Sounds good right? I got the pink version, which retails at £79.99 at the moment, but... is it worth the price tag?

Healthy, vegan banana & coconut ice cream recipe

I shared a picture of this delicious dessert on my instagram and many of you were surprised with how easy it was to make. Ice-cream  ready in 5 minutes, made with only two ingredients? Yep! It couldn't be more simple to make. All you need to prepare it are frozen bananas, desiccated coconut and a food processor.  Healthy, clean (whatever you want to call it) and... absolutely delicious!

Smoothie week - part 2

As promised, here is the second part of my smoothie week :) You can read my first post, with my own smoothie recipes here. I only had two more days left, but I also wanted to share the recipes included in the little booklet I received from Alpro. I must admit, I was a bit sceptical about the beetroot concoction, but I gave it a go anyway to see, if it is tastes nice.

Smoothie week - part 1.

If you follow me on instagram, you might have noticed that I have been drinking smoothies for breakfast since Wednesday. I love smoothies, so when Alpro asked me if I want to take part in their #AlproAM (Alpro Almond Mornings) challenge, I couldn't say no. I was kindly sent some of their Unsweetened Almond Milk, a recipe book and some cool goodies, including a Fitbit Flex and some beauty products. I am not good at following recipes though, so I have been whipping up my own concoctions and sharing them on instagram. I have made 5 different smoothies so far and all of them were delicious.

Changing my unrealistic expectations + some FITspiration :)

Every January, some of us make resolutions to eat healthy, start exercising and get fit in general. Healthy eating is something I am passionate about and I started exercising regularly last year, but... I wouldn't consider myself fit. If I had to run a couple of miles today, I would probably cry, because I never run during the colder months...  I would love to be able to run a marathon one day and it is definitely something I will consider in the future, but at the moment, I just want to be as fit and as healthy as possible.

Superfoods and healthy options for chocoholics

I was recently sent a lovely parcel full of healthy and yummy treats and I am very excited to share my thoughts with you. As a chocoholic, I always crave chocolate, but I do my best to avoid eating unnecessary, processed sugar. I personally prefer the taste of healthy, raw chocolate, but I struggle to find it in supermarkets. That's why I love online stores. They offer a big choice of products and you can get really good deals, if you are willing to spend some time comparing prices etc.

Recipe: Healthy Two Ingredient Banana Pancakes

I always get asked about the recipe for my healthy/clean pancakes and believe me... they couldn't be easier to make. The only ingredients you will need for the actual pancakes are bananas and eggs and you can add your choice of toppings or experiment with the batter.

Healthy Eating Update

If you follow me on instagram, you probably know that I am obsessed with healthy food. I mention it on the blog too, but I should definitely talk about it more often. I get tons of emails asking me about food and recipes, but the biggest part for me is just about paying attention to what goes into my body. The "Neal's Yard Remedies Healing Foods" book, is perfect for those who are trying to make a change and eat 'better', or those who already enjoy a healthy diet and want to know more about certain foods and get some recipe ideas.

Recipe: Warm couscous salad

I love couscous and I add it to many dishes, including salads. To keep the calories down, I usually mix it with vegetables and serve it with an egg, fish or chicken. Today's recipe is very simple and it only takes 15-20 minutes to make.
