Bourjois Rouge Edition lipsticks - Thumbs up!

Hi everyone,

I will never get bored of saying it- I love Bourjois! Their products are affordable but perform like high end makeup! Amazing value for money. I was very excited to see the new Rouge Edition lipstick collection and I was lucky to get a chance to try out a couple of shades from the range before the launch. You can now buy them exclusively in Selfridges for £7.99 each and I also noticed three shades on the Boots website. The full collection will be available to buy nationwide in February and I already know that it will be a big hit! I am about to explain why :)

The Rouge Edition collection consists of 18 shades for all women, all styles and all tastes and  is divided into 3 on trend families:

Preppy- for style addicts
Colour Block - for bright, eye-catching colours
Night Out- shades for divine glamour

"Bourjois Rouge Edition is a “must-have” lipstick for every woman’s make-up bag. Tested and approved by fashion lovers, it’s buildable formula is enriched with pure laque for a radiant, glossy finish along with orchid blossom extract meaning it glides onto the lips leaving them feeling smooth, hydrated and protected for up to 10 hours. Stylish and sleek in design, it is the perfect fashion accessory for that trendsetting smile."

The formula of the Rouge Edition lipsticks is absolutely amazing. I was pleasantly surprised with the creaminess, the colour payoff and the way the lippies felt on my lips. I applied all of them straight from the bullet and they glide on, just like my Chanel Rouge Coco Shine or YSL Rouge Voluptee. The formula is super smooth, very moisturising and enriched with orchid blossom extract. All the shades leave my lips looking lovely and felling hydrated for over 8 hours, before I have to reapply. Oh and the colour fades beautifully and evenly, leaving a subtle stain of colour on my lips. Lighter shades are buildable from sheer to opaque coverage and dark shades are opaque in one sweep. 1/4 of the pigments are lacquered for added shine, and as you can see on the pictures below, my lips look super hydrated and reflect light beautifully! Since I got the Rouge Edition lipsticks a week ago, I can't stop using them. I will be buying more shades when they are available in Boots especially if they do a 3 for 2 offer. I have my eye on a couple of colours already :)

PREPPY family consists of 6 neutral shades, perfect for an everyday nude lip.
shade 03 - Peche Cosy*  (pictured above) - Peachy nude, with light cream tones. Fresh and full of light.
shade 05 - Brun Boheme*  (pictured above) - dusky pink with a touch of brown. My favourite from the collection.
COLOR BLOCK family consists of 6 bright, statement shades. Perfect for spring/summer.
shade 08 -  Rose Studio* (pictured above) - described as "true pink". Absolutely stunning colour!
shade 11 - Fraise Remix* (pictured above) - a strawberry pink, with orange and yellow undertones.
shade 12 - Rose Neon* (pictured above) - subtle barbie pink with blue undertones.
NIGHT OUT family consists of 6 shades perfect for... a night out :) Including red, chocolate and plum shades.
shade 14  - Pretty Prune* (pictured above) - dark, plummy red, with a  gorgeous shine

Overall, I am very impressed with this collection. The pigmentation is amazing, the formula is hydrating and long lasting, all the shades have a beautiful shine and the packaging is lovely.
Rouge Edition lipsticks* are definitely worth checking out and put many high end lippies to shame.

At the moment they are available exclusively in Selfridges for £7.99 and nationwide in February.
