Kylie Jenner Inspired Makeup Look / 90's Lip

No matter how hard we try, we can't really avoid reading about the Kardashians and seeing them in the media. They are absolutely everywhere and even someone like me, who couldn't care less about 'celebrities' gets a little bit of inspiration from them sometimes. After all, they are famous for their flawless makeup and I am a makeup addict. The latest Kardashian craze is the 'Kylie Jenner Lip' which is basically a 90's inspired nude lip. I gave it a go and  paired it with a very subtle brown and beige smokey eye, winged liner and big lashes.

I am afraid that I will never have a flawless complexion like any of the Kardashians, but I can try to fake it, right? I used The Porefessional* by Benefit to prime and smooth the skin, Clarins Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base* to create a perfect canvas for eyeshadow, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer to conceal my dark circles and imperfections, Elf Flawless Finish Foundation* to make my skin look as flawless as possible, Benefit Hoola Bronzer* to add some colour back to my face and enhance my cheekbones, plus the blush shade from Naked Flushed Palette in Strip* on my cheeks and the intense golden highlight on the tops of my cheekbones.

The eyes are super simple and I used my Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette* to create a little bit of definition. I am wearing shade Venus allover the lid, in the inner corners and under the brow bone, Naked 2 in the crease and Joan Collins Frame Line Liner* close to the lashline, with a small flick. I used Anastasia Brow Wiz to fill in my brows and added false lashes to complete the look. I also applied one coat of YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Luxurious Mascara to top and bottom lashes.

Finally, THE lips! To be perfectly honest, I was planning to buy MAC Whirl Lip Liner (exact colour Kylie uses ) but it is sold out everywhere, plus I already have plenty of other options. I have the L'Oreal Contour Parfait in shade 658 Simply Rose, Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Liner in shade Pumped*, Lord & Berry Waterproof Lip Liner in shade Blossom*, Neve Cosmetics Pastello Lip Pencil in Rose* and Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in shade Rose Tweed. All ideal for the 90's lip look.

Which shade is my favourite? I can't really choose one, because I love all of them and they look almost identical on the lips. When my lips are feeling dry and I can't pull off a liner alone, I go for Bourjois Rose Tweed lipstick and it looks gorgeous too. It's all about making makeup trends work for you, because there is nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable with your own face. This look can be as subtle or as bold as you want it to be.

Left to Right: L'Oreal Contour Parfait in shade 658 Simply Rose, Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Liner in shade Pumped*, Lord & Berry Waterproof Lip Liner in shade Blossom*, Neve Cosmetics Pastello Lip Pencil in Rose* Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in shade Rose Tweed*.
Wearing Neve Cosmetics Pastello on the outlines and Lord & Berry allover the lips.
Option 1: matte lips and no mascara on bottom lashes.

Option 2: Glossy lips (L'Oreal Lip Liner and Bourjois Rose Tweed Lipstick on top), mascara on bottom lashes and Faint from Naked Basics along the bottom lashline.

Which look do you prefer? I think I like the 1st one better, as it is more sophisticated. I would wear the second one as an evening look.
