Guest Post: Autumn Ambience / A Little Boat Sailing

Hey everyone! My name is Amy and I'm so excited to be over here on Sandra's blog whilst she is away on her holiday. I'm kicking things off today with some of my favourite make up items for this coming autumn; I hope you enjoy.

Autumn is my favourite season without a doubt whereby the changing colour of the woods, copious amounts of knitwear and scarves hitting the shops and of course the inevitable change in our make up choices all add up to a season that I look forward to each year. This last month I've added a couple of new additions to my make up collection in order to make way for more autumn and winter appropriate make up, although let’s face it we can wear what we want no matter what time of year it is.

The most recent addition to my make up collection has been the much hyped about Rimmel 107 Kate Moss Lipstick which has seen more than its fair share of the lime light since it was released. Having said that since I picked this up I have worn it none stop so I can certainly see why so many people like it. It is for me quite simply the perfect berry toned lip for autumn and even more so for winter. Sticking with gems from the high street I know I'll be reaching for an old favourite very soon which is the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in the shade crush. This is a beautiful plum shade that's really lovely to wear and is in my opinion more forgiving if you suffer from chapped lips.

The Charlotte Tilbury 'Sex on Fire' Blush was a treat just after my birthday and has been a shade that I have being wearing none stop as all of my other blushers are actually quite bright ranging from pinks and peaches. This offering from Charlotte Tilbury is a much more muted pink shade with for me tones of brown that come through ever so subtly, it truly is beautiful. I feel as though the same description can be described for the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush which I recently received in a beauty swap I took part in. I've only used this once so far but found myself incredibly impressed with the longevity of this blush. Hindsight is a wonderful thing as in all honesty I probably didn't need both as these as they are quite similar in shade.

Let's face it nail colour choice at this time of year takes a big turn although you will still find me sporting black in the summer if my mood takes me there. Digging out some old gems I have found myself turning back to Barry M as I love their polishes as both price point and formula are a complete hit with me. Barry M 'raspberry' was a shade I wore relentlessly last year and is no doubt one I will be wearing again very soon, it's a shade you have to try. Some of my other favourite shades come from the Barry M Gelly line which again is one that I'm a huge fan of whereby both 'plum' and 'watermelon' are again great options. Speaking of this line in particular I have noticed that there are some new shades coming out soon, by which whilst not all of them appeal to me there are a couple that have taken my fancy.

Autumn truly is a colourful season, whilst I'm not a fan of the dark mornings I can forget those quite easily when I start seeing the red, orange and brown hues within the trees whilst on my walk to work; I'll of course be sporting that berry lip.
