REN Rosa Centifolia No. 1 Purity Cleansing Balm Review

I adore cleansing balms and they are the only cleansers I use at the moment. I usually reach for the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm or Balance Me Cleanse & Smooth Face Balm, but I have also been enjoying REN's new offering. Rosa Centifolia No.1 Purity Cleansing Balm is a gorgeous product, with the most luxurious feel to it and it might even replace my Emma Hardie Balm for good, since it is more affordable and does the same job.

You get 100ml of product for £23.00 or 150ml for £30.00 and if you love cleansing balms, I would just go for the bigger size right away. I use a small amount of it and warm it up with my fingers, massage it allover my face, add a splash of warm water and remove it with a flannel or a muslin cloth. The balm transforms into a milky consistency in contact with warm water, so it won't leave your face feeling greasy. It removes makeup easily, including waterproof mascara, so you don't need a separate makeup remover.

It is very gentle on the skin and helps to sooth any irritation or redness. It also protects skin's defense barrier against environmental stress, free radicals and pollution. On top of that, it conditions brows and lashes - something I should definitely do more often. The packaging states that you should avoid contact with eyes and I can confirm, that it stings my eyes if it gets inside them. I still use it to remove my eye makeup though, but I have to be very careful not to get the product in my eyes. It smells like roses, but it isn't an overpowering scent. I find it very pleasant and therapeutic.

The ingredients include Roman Chamomile Oil and Pink Violet Leaf Extract to soothe and calm redness, Rose Oil to help relieve stress, Prebiotic Oligosaccharides to protect and Lecithin to retain skins moisture. REN Rosa Centifolia No.1 Purity Cleansing Balm is suitable for all skin types and it will leave your skin feeling soft, clean and hydrated. I really enjoy using it and I will definitely repurchase it in the future. Beautiful product from a fabulous brand!

  11. I really like this balm, I have repurchased it twice already! Rodial do a cleansing balm which is amazing but costs £50-this is an almost exact dupe in consistency for half the price!
