Autumn Eye Shadow Palettes: Urban Decay, The Balm, Clarins, Barry M, MUA, Laura Mercier, Eye Of Horus

Autumn is probably my favourite 'makeup season' and as soon as the weather becomes a bit chilly, I find myself reaching for eye shadow palettes on a daily basis. They all deserve more love and I always  feel horrible about neglecting them (a tiny bit) in Spring/Summer. I went through my eye shadow stash and picked some gorgeous palettes with earthy, brown and golden shades. I love warm eyes in Autumn, especially with a touch of burgundy or green.

URBAN DECAY
My all time  favourite brand in terms of eyeshadow. The formula is perfect! My UD picks for Autumn are:

Ammo Palette* (£23.00) - with a gorgeous selection of browns, green and burgundy
Naked Basics Palette* (£20.00) for those who love matte formulas
Naked 2 Palette (££36.00) - if you like a wide selection of neutral shades.

I use all of them very often and I think that the colours are very Autumn appropriate. I would also recommend the original Naked palette. It is equally gorgeous.

This palette is a real gem and features the most beautiful mixture of colours. If Naked Basics and Naked 2 had a baby, it would be it :) haha. It contains a selection of matte and satin finishes in neutral colours, with an added bonus of a burgundy shade (Sexy), a black (Serious) and a very dark brown (Sleek). Sleek is a perfect colour for my eyebrows, which makes me love this palette even more. The formula of the shadows is very pigmented, easy to blend and long lasting, with very minimal fallout. The Nude'tude palette comes with a little brush and a big mirror, making it perfect for travelling. As usual, The Balm made the packaging very unusual and I absolutely love it! You can buy this beautiful palette from www.beautychamber.co.uk

If you feel overwhelmed by a wide selection of shades and prefer smaller palettes, I would recommend the beautiful Eye Of Horus Isis Sun Goddess Palette* (£29.95). It is a bit pricey, but perfect for those who like more natural makeup and fans of smaller, less known brands. I am glad I got a chance to try Eye Of Horus products, they are fantastic!

The next tiny palette is by DuWop and it is their Crush Lava Trio (£21.00). It is absolutely gorgeous and as you can see, I have been using it a lot. When I first got it, I was in love with the gold shade, but for Autumn, I adore the shimmery burgundy colour.

Barry M Natural Glow Shadow & Blush Palette* (£6.49 - www.barrym.com)
From the three new  Barry M eye shadow and blush palettes, the Natural Glow one is definitely my favourite. The colours are truly neutral and perfect for those who are scared of experimenting with crazy shades. They are nicely pigmented  and last on my eyelids for 10 hours with a primer.  There is a bit of fallout during the application, but it is  not a big issue. I also love the blusher shade included in the palette. It is a light pink shade with subtle shimmer and gives a gorgeous illuminating effect. If you are looking for a very affordable option from a brand you can trust, you can get your hands on this lovely Barry M palette from the 25th of September.

A more luxurious offering is the Clarins Forest Eye Quartet* (£30.00) from their Autumn Collection. If you are a fan of green and brown shades, you will love it. I adore the formula of Clarins eye shadows, they give a beautiful satin finish and are very long lasting. The packaging is to die for and feels luxurious. It would make a perfect gift.

Another high end pick, which I actually got on offer is the Laura Mercier Signature Colour Essentials Palette. I paid £12.50 for this beaut + 4 other Laura Mercier products. I am hoping to see some amazing bargains in the Space NK Christmas sale in 2013 too :) I adore this palette and the formula of the eye shadows is beautiful.  The colours include: Vintage Pink (blush), Morning Dew, Primrose, Topaz and Kir Royal .

If you love budget makeup, you probably own all of the MUA palettes. My picks for Autumn, are their Undressed palette, Undress Me Too and Heaven and Earth. The first two are dupes of Naked and Naked 2 and the last one features a beautiful selection of browns. For £4.00 you can't go wrong with these.

The last gorgeous palette I decided to feature in this post is the Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette. It is basically Autumn summed up in an eye shadow palette. The colours are perfect and the formula is super creamy, almost buttery. If you are based in US, you are lucky to be able to get Wet n Wild easily, but if you live in UK, you will have to get it online from amazon. I was lucky to receive this gorgeous palette in my makeup swap with Coco and I adore it!

I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know if you have any Autumn Eye Shadow recommendations. I am lusting after the Bobbi Brown Rich Chocolate Palette and the new Sigma Defining Eyes Palette.
