Urban Decay NAKED Basics Palette review

"Urban Decay's first MATTE palette, featuring six gorgeously Naked neutrals to build on or wear alone - including four never-before-seen shades. Naked Basics is more than just the long-awaited, multipurpose MATTE companion to Naked. It's the palette EVERY woman needs in her beauty arsenal. With six stripped-down, Nakedly neutral shadows, it has everything you need for the perfect neutral matte eye. It all comes in a sleek compact (embossed with a pretty, metallic "NAKED" on the front) that has a slight sheen and a suede-like feel. Best of all, the slim design is perfect for travel - while this palette is perfectly travel sized, it is loaded with full-size shadow pans, just like Urban Decay's other Naked palettes."

I am very excited to share this review with you. I love Urban Decay eyeshadows and my life wouldn't be complete without the Naked Basics Palette. It is a a cute little palette with six full size matte eyeshadows. I took comparison pictures next to the Naked 2 palette to show you how small it is. It is perfect for travelling and if you love neutral shades, you won't need anything else. The slim case is made with rubberized plastic (less rubbery than NARS) and is easy to clean. It is definitely my favourite packaging from all the Naked palettes - simple and sturdy. Naked Basics palette comes with a good size mirror and fits comfortably into the palm of my hand. Perfect.

Four of the shades in the Naked Basics palette are brand new and two of them were already available in other palettes and as single eyeshadows. The lightest shade (Venus) is the only semi-matte formula in the selection, the remaining five are matte. I am actually happy to see one shade with a little bit of shimmer in it. This way I am able to add a highlight under the browbones and in the inner corners of my my eyes, without reaching for another palette.

All the shades are easy to work with, highly pigmented and super soft. The formula is easy to blend and stays on my eyelids all day. I always use  a primer for matte shades, to get more wear out of them, but without a primer they lasted for 9-10 hours, looking absolutely perfect! I expected the formula to be a bit powdery, but it isn't - it is silky smooth! In my opinion Urban  Decay eyeshadows are the best ones available on the market and never disappoint me.
