Spending ban update #1

Hello my lovelies!

It is now day 13 of my 100 day spending ban and unfortunately I had to buy something.
I didn't break the rules of the ban though. I run out of a spot treatment and I did not have an alternative.
If it was just one spot, I wouldn't have rushed to buy anything, but I am battling a spot attack at the moment, so I just couldn't wait until the ban is over. Thankfully, the breakouts are on my neck and jawline, so they are easy to hide, but I cannot wait to get rid of them. I bought the Origins Super Spot Remover and to be honest, I am a bit disappointed. It is the tiniest bottle ever and it costs £13.00!!! It is helping to heal breakouts, but I am not sure if I will be repurchasing it in the future. I will definitely  give it more time and review it soon, hopefully to report that all my breakouts are gone forever and that it is my HG Spot treatment. Fingers crossed.

I have a massive urge to buy stuff and I am constantly doing "imaginary online shopping", putting products in my online basket, without proceeding to the checkout. This week on my wishlist, we have:

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. Thirst Quenching Serum 30ml

Brow Wiz

What is on your wishlist at the moment?

  1. I was so close to buying the Origins Spot Remover with a voucher yesterday but went with the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask and I'm quite glad I did! I'm currently lusting after MAC's Creme in Your Coffee lipstick but I started the ban myself last week!

  6. I've always wanted to try that spot remover but like you said, the price point is pretty ridiculous for a tiny, tiny bottle! I'm glad you're doing well with the ban though! Feels surreal to not go out and buy make-up on a regular basis!

  10. I've been tempted by the origins spot remover, I didn't realise it was such a small bottle though! Hopefully it will work out for you :) I've heard really good things about the mario badescu spot treatment too. x

  11. I think if you give it a couple of days you will love Spot Remover! It is a miracle product for me. Use it for a couple of days and your pimples will just flake off. That tiny bottle lasts me ~a year, even with my very acne-prone face.

  17. If you didn't know already, spots on the neck and jawline are all doing to stress so try to relax more and they should start to calm down. I went though a bad patch of spots there and once I knew that they were linked to stress, that seemed to help because I was getting more stressed about them (cycle or what!) Keep going, you're doing really well. I want to try the Super Spot remover so much! xx

  20. I bought the SSR the other day as well and was surprised by how small it was! I've read so many good things about it though and someone told me it lasts a good while, so hopefully it was worth the investment for both of us! Xo

    1. I have two bottles of it and it doesn't work on my breakouts at all :(
I use it as a toner though and I like the smell of it :))

  22. Have you tried Kate Somerville EradiKate as a spot treatment? The tingling sensation that occurs upon application is lovely- I take it as a sign it's actually working! The fact that it actually does 'eradicate' blemishes doesn't hurt too :)

  24. I totally understand you and I think you need to calm down a bit... A couple of months ago I had a job so I could buy online as much as I can but since my job contract ended I cannot afford spending the money on my savings and I would never ever spend money I don't have. I know its hard to see all the products out there and the amazing sales that come out every day but think that this is going to be good for you. Being a shopaholic is not fun or healthy, but think 3 times before you buy it, completely analize the products you wanna buy and then decide if you really need them. It suuuuucks, but once you finish this spending ban you will be able to pay off your debts and you will feel good inside :)
For breakouts I'd recommend La roche posay effaclair duo or a cheaper alternative, a face mask of honey and lemon :)

good luck with the spendng ban!

  27. Sorry to hear about your breakouts! I'm struggling with the jaw line ones too. There buggers. Hopefully the Orgins Spot treatment works out for you, I've had my eye on it for awhile. :) xx

  28. I was a bit disapointed as well when I saw the size of the bottle but it apparently works wonders so it might be worth it I guess..£13.00 is a lot of money for this miniscule bottle though. I really want to go on this spending but I don't think I can, I I love shopping way to much especially when I'm sick and with this weather I somehow manage to get sick every other week..Anyway have a lovely day :)x

  30. I'm not doing a spending ban, as I was never that much of a big spender, I just seemed to purchase items which I already had a a product similar of in my collection or a good dupe. So im trying to use up what Ive got. Im on my last drops of the SOS serum! It's so good though I just have to repurchase when I run out! I've lusted after that stila palette for a while too, I just have so many eyeshadows I cannot justify buying it!

Looking forward to seeing your next update on how you're doing! xx
