I must admit, I've always been a big fan of gladiator sandals. That's why I was extremely happy to see that they are a strong trend for Spring/Summer 2013. The possibilities are endless and the designs presented on the runaways recently are absolutely beautiful! My favourite pair is by Altuzarra and I wish I had slim, long legs and a healthy bank balance to be able to wear them :) They cots nearly £ 2000.
I also noticed a couple of classic, but very interesting designs from Tom Ford and the gorgeous pair with gold leaf detail from Alexander McQueen. I could spend all day looking at photos of shoes to be honest.
I don't think I could wear any of the fancy designer gladiators pictured above, so I decided to feature a couple of more realistic options. I don't really wear heels, so flat gladiator sandals by Clarks would be my choice. Their Spring/Summer collection is lovely and every single pair of shoes I bought from them in the past lasted me for many years. Comfort and quality are my main concerns when it comes to footwear and I know that if I choose Clarks, I won't be disappointed.
I am slightly obsessed with studs, so I will probably go for a few simple pairs with studded detail.
If you are not a fan of flats, Clarks offer a selection of gladiator heels and wedges as well. The second pair from the left would be perfect for a special occasion, worn with a nice summer dress and nude accessories.
I also like the black studded pair on the right and I actually own similar shoes with studs and rhinestones inspired by a gorgeous Balmain design from a couple of years ago. Some pieces never go out of fashion.
Do you like gladiator sandals? Are you planning to get a pair for Spring/Summer?
