My St Tropez Self Tanning Favourites

I was a self tan enthusiast for a long time, but in the past few years I completely stopped using it, as I just couldn't be bothered with stained clothes or bedding etc. But... last Summer I attended a St. Tropez event and was introduced to their Purity range with a clear formula and let me tell you - it's an absolute game changer and made me fall back in love with fake tan!

Let's start with the best face self tanner in the entire world. I am not exaggerating, I have tried them all! The St Tropez Purity Bronzing Water Face Mist*(£22.00) is completely hassle free and takes 5 seconds to apply! YES! 5 seconds! You simply spray it onto cleansed skin, go to sleep and wake up with a golden glow! Magic? It must be! You can see my bare skin after using the face mist below.

Most self tanning products for the face end up looking patchy or cause breakouts and clog pores, but this mist is actually hydrating and kind to your skin. When I use it (once a week), I simply cleanse and then mist my face and don't follow with a moisturiser, as it's really hydrating on it's own. It smells tropical and doesn't have that horrible fake tan scent at all. I still have about 1/3 of the bottle left after weekly use for 8 months and I will be repurchasing 100%!!! I don't think you can go wrong with it. Just make sure to spray all areas of the face. I usually do 5 sprays - forehead, each cheek, centre of the face and then on my chin. The mist feels refreshing and instantly hydrates and doesn't transfer onto clothes or bedding. The formula is vegan as well, which is fab!

Next we have my favourite self tanning product for the rest of my body - the St.Tropez Self Tan Purity Bronzing Water Mousse*(£26.00). Again, the clear formula is a game changer and you simply apply it and wait for it to develop, but don't have to rinse it off! How amazing is that? No transfer, so you can wear white without worrying about stains.

Just like the face mist, it smells tropical and doesn't have the usual fake tan scent. It actually develops to a very nice colour and I was pleasantly surprised with it. It's a golden medium tan and looks very natural. I much prefer this formula to the Extra Dark mousse, as it's completely hassle free! There is no guide colour, which means you have to make sure you generously apply allover, but I haven't had any streaks or patches. It's also very moisturising and leaves the skin feeling soft. No stickiness, just plump skin and a golden glow after a few hours. It takes 8 hours to fully develop.

Lastly, we have the St Tropez Extra Dark Bronzing Mousse*(£29.00), for those who love a dark, deep tan. It has a guide colour like traditional self tanning products and you have to rinse it off. I used it a few times to get a darker tan than the Purity mousse offers, but I feel like I am now expecting too much and want every product to have a clear formula, haha.

The extra hassle is worth it if you want to look like you just came back from the Bahamas though. I mean... Look at the before and after of my legs! I personally recommend exfoliating a day in advance, moisturising head to toe, than the next day exfoliate again and then moisturise dry areas like hands, knees, feet and elbows prior to application. Use a tanning mitt of course and wear loose clothing after to make sure you don't get any lines. You can rinse it off after 4 hours for a long lasting dark tan (similar colour to the Purity mousse) or after 8 hours for an intense extra dark tan. I really like it and I love the results, but most of the time I prefer the Purity Mousse. The picture above is after 8 hours with the tan fully developed.

Overall I am absolutely amazed by the Purity range and I am a complete convert. It's so easy to apply, doesn't stain your clothes and bedding  and the fact you don't have to wash it off is a huge plus. A winner in my books. I am very intrigued by the new gel formula from the Purity range, as it sounds really good. I wonder if it's as good as the mousse.

Have you tried any of these?
