Opera Outfit (Carmen)

My husband and I were kindly invited by Scottish Opera to see Carmen at Theatre Royal Glasgow last night and I thought I would show you what I wore for the occasion and tell you a little bit about the evening. I wasn't sure about the dress code, but I decided to go for something elegant, yet comfortable :)

It was our first time at the opera, but we had a lovely evening and I would definitely recommend going to see Georges Bizet's Carmen. Both me and my hubby were totally sucked into the story and the cast were just incredible. I still can't believe how amazing their voices were - absolutely mesmerising! There are still some tickets available for the Glasgow shows for Thursday and Saturday, if you fancy seeing it.

I had far too many dresses  to choose from as my wardrobe is totally overflowing, but after changing about 20 times, I decided to wear a beige, knee length Dorothy Perkins Shirt Dress*(£28.00). It's simple and elegant and I even managed to breastfeed in it when I got home :) Yay! I got a size 20 and it's perfect. I added a black jacket with gold zips and PU trims (old, Simply Be) and my favourite Ash Spiral Boots (which are now called Ash HURRICAN Boots). As usual, I took my beautiful Ted Baker Layally Bag with me and to add a final touch, a rose gold Fossil Watch.

It took me ages to get ready and I had to breastfeed about 5 times  between hair, makeup, getting dressed and packing all the essentials for the kids (Scott's mum watched them for the evening), but I am sooo glad we went. I definitely have to say yes to more events, even if it means that I am sipping on orange juice so I can still feed Mia at night. Oh, the things we do for the kids, eh? :)

I think it was a good outfit choice for our first opera experience :)
