Sunday Manicure: The one I didn't like

Hi everyone. I hope you are having a lovely Sunday. Today's manicure is the one I was excited to try but... it turns out that we were not made for each other. It looks interesting, but I couldn't stand the feeling of it on my nails.

Once the feather effect nail polish dried, the finish felt very rough and the tiny coloured bits kept catching my gorgeous white jumper. It was driving me insane! After a couple of hours, it started chipping and looked very messy, making the whole manicure process a waste of time. I am glad I didn't spend a lot of money on the original feather effect polish. I had the Nails Inc one in my asos basket for ages, but I thought that it will be better to try a cheap option first to see if I like it. The real deal might be better obviously, but I think that the finish will be similar.

I used MUA Pistachio Ice Cream (£1.00) as a base and added two coats of Invogue Feather Effect Top Coat in shade 'On The Money' (£3.49)

  3. It looks really cute but I agree, the finish is a bit of a nightmare. A thick topcoat might help?

  10. I'd recommend popping a clear top coat over the top. It doesn't change the feather effect at all but provides a smoother surface and will stop the strips catching on clothes etc :)

  11. It looks great, but I totally get why you don't like it. Things getting caught in your jumpers is so annoying!

  12. It looks lovely but I don't like the rough feeling on my nails and I too have the tendency to then peel it off.
