I haven't done a 'What's in my makeup bag' post in ages, so here is an updated one. I wanted to show you exactly what was in the bag, so I photographed all the contents after a day out, without planning anything or adding/removing products. It's the real deal :)
The makeup bag I am currently using is the gorgeous You're Magic Makeup Bag* (£14.99) from Flamingo Gifts and I adore it. The print, the colour - EVERYTHING! It's perfect and a really good size.
From base products, I have the Clarins Radiance Boosting Complexion Base*, Clarins Instant Concealer* and Bourjois Happy Light Concealer. I carry these with me in case I need a proper touch up - like after an ultrasound when you see your baby on the screen and you simply can't stop crying :') I am sooo emotional, haha.
I also don't leave the house without the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light. I like using it with the Real Techniques Rectractable Bronzer Brush* to add a natural glow to my face. I also have the little Sigma Luminescence Highlighter from the Resort Palette which I use with the Real Techniques Setting Brush* or my fingers.
If you are wondering why I don't carry a bronzer or blusher in my makeup bag - it's because I have the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Compact in Strip* in a side pocket of my actual handbag :)
For the eyes, I have the Art Deco Eye Designer with two little refills attached on each side- a medium brown and light beige - perfect for a a neutral smokey eye or a bit of definition. To blend it all out, I use the Crownbrush C433 Brush*.
A liquid liner is a must have and my number 1 choice is always the incredible Bourjois Liner Pinceau*. Nope, I will never shut up about it :) Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers are also an essential, followed by the amazing Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara*. Seriously, you have to try it! I have two eye pencil choices - the Light Beige UNE Pencil when I want to brighten my waterline or the Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Pencil in Black Velvet* when I need something ultra black.
I am not sure why I have the Urban Decay Perversion Angled Brush* in the bag an no brow powder, but it is my favourite brow brush. Speaking of brows - I am currently using the L'Oreal Brow Artist* and Benefit Gimme Brow*. Great combo, although... nothing beats the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Brunette.
I expected to have at least 10 lip products in here, but some of them were on the bottom of my handbag so they don't count :) A good lip balm is something all of us need and it doesn't get better than the beautiful Dior Lip Glow*. It's stunning and an absolute pleasure to use!
My most used lip products at the moment are the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets* in So Hap'pink and Happy Nude Year. They are both lovely and stay put for ages. When I am a bit fed up with matte lips, I opt for MAC Hug Me or Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Rosewood Shimmer*.
For extra precision, especially with darker colours, I swear by the Real Techniques Retractable Lip Brush*. Carrying normal lip brushes in your beautiful makeup bag isn't the best idea, so something retractable is the only sensible option.
I think that I could possibly have less stuff in my makeup bag, but I like to have everything I need to totally re-do my makeup if needed :)
