I am a bit late to the party with these, but as a Bourjois addict I have to share my thoughts with you. The most exciting release for me is definitely the ultra black Liner Pinceau, but I also I fell in love with the new Colorband Shadow/Liner Sticks and the new shades of Color Boost Lip Crayons. Great value for money and stunning colours.
Bourjois Colorband 2in1 Eyeshadow & Liner Sticks* (£5.99 each)
I have mostly read rave reviews of these, but some people were also very disappointed with the pigmentation after blending. I personally find the Colorband Eyeshadows fantastic and I have been using them a lot lately. They are easy to apply, absolutely foolproof and versatile. The texture is soft and creamy and blends effortlessly with my fingers or a brush, but you have to be quick. They can be used as a shadow or liner and you can either opt for a subtle wash of colour, or an intense, nicely pigmented effect. I like quite intense colour on my eyelids, so here is what I do. I apply a small amount of the product and blend it out quickly until the colour is quite sheer, following by another layer that I just leave as it is. This way I get a smokey effect on and nice pigmentation where I want it. Once blended, the waterproof formula won't budge until you remove it and I really mean it. I had to use a good oil based cleanser to remove my eye makeup and the swatches on my hand were still there after washing my hands and a shower! Amazing! I haven't experienced creasing all day, but I am not sure how it will work on oily lids. I am seriously impressed with these and the colours are just stunning. My faves are 02, 03, 04 and 05.
Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayons* (£7.99 each)
I am a big fan of these and I use them all the time, so any new addition to the range excites me :) The three new shades are: 07 Proudly Naked, 08 Sweet Macchiato and 09 Pinking Of It. I like all of them, but the nude (07) is simply beautiful! It gives me the 'my lips but better' effect and I can apply it with my eyes closed. It always looks good, no matter what makeup I pair it with. The formula is lovely - creamy, moisturising and non-sticky. With a glossy finish, the crayons make my lips look plumper and fuller and thanks to SPF 15, they are also protected. Like all Color Boost crayons, these can be applied lightly, like a tinted lip balm or heavily for an intense colour.
My Holy Grail Liner just got better and I couldn't be more grateful. I have been using the original Liner Pinceau for many, many years (over 7 years as far as I can remember) and I can't live without it, so the improved ultra black version is an absolute godsend for me. I am sooo happy! I find this kind of liner the easiest to use, although some girls really struggle with it and can't master the technique. I am not sure why. I think it depends on what you are used to. I personally find most felt tip and gel liners annoying and prefer to work with a fine brush and a liquid formula. You get a more precise finish and a lot more control! I can draw the finest line ever or a thick feline flick. I am simply obsessed and I always worry that Bourjois might discontinue Liner Pinceau, so this new release gave me hope :) haha. I know... I sound so dramatic talking about it, but I can't imagine my life without my Holy Grail liner. If it ever gets discontinued, I will cry my eyes out and buy all the remaining stock to make sure I have a lifetime supply! Seriously, I could write an essay about this incredible product! I love, love, love it! I always get compliments on my liner and this is what I use 99% of the time!
Bourjois Liner Stylo in Ultra Black* (£5.99)
I like using a super black liner on my top waterline to intensify and thicken my lash line and this one does the job perfectly. You can use it to create a flick as well, or on your lower lash line and waterline. It is very versatile and long lasting. It is a retractable pencil, but it also comes with a built-in sharpener to kip the tip nicely shaped. The formula is creamy and glides on without tugging the delicate skin around your eyes. Perfect.
Bourjois Silk Edition Compact Powder* (£8.99)
I am not big on powder, but I use it on my t-zone and around my nose to control oil. I find most powders quite heavy, but the Silk Edition Compact Powder has a lovely texture. It is very soft, almost silky and doesn't make me look cakey. I need a touch up after 6-8 hours (I have normal/combitantion skin).
