My current go to makeup look.

Since Zachary started school I have been wearing makeup Monday to Friday, as I just can't face new people without some slap on! Maybe I will relax more in a few months, but at the moment, I ain't going nowhere without winged liner, haha :) This look has been my go to lately and here's what I used to create it.

The only brushes I used to create this look are from the Pro Size Cosmetic Toolkit by QVS, which consists of 5 different brushes and a very clever holder to keep them all in place. Everything you need from the base, to lips, eyes and powder.

BASE: The Liz Earle Signature Foundation is one of my favourite base products. It gives amazing coverage and a natural looking finish and you don't really have to set it with a powder, as it sets beautifully within minutes. I used the QVS Foundation Brush from the set to apply the foundation and my fingers to to buff it in. I am also loving the Bare Minerals Invisible Light Translucent Powder Duo* with the matt powder helping to control oil and the Glow one to blur imperfections and add a lovely sheen to the skin. I applied it with the QVS Powder Brush for a nice, even finish.

On my cheeks, I am wearing one of my all time favourite blushers- Rockateur by Benefit. Such a lovely peachy shade! I also added a bit of colour to my face with the benefit Hoola bronzer, using the QVS Powder Brush - it is medium sized, so it works well for cheek products. My go to highlight at the moment is the beautiful Mary Lou Manizer by The Balm and I used the QVS Foundation Brush with it, as I like a lot of highlight on the tops of my cheekbones, my nose and cupids bow and the shape and density of this brush seem to work well for me. Try the Hoola, Rockateur and Mary Lou combo - it is gorgeous!

For the eyeshadow, I decided to shop my stash and opted for the lovely limited edition Clarins Splendours palette, as it is too pretty to just sit in my makeup drawers without being used! I applied and blended the shadows with the QVS Eyeshadow Brush and used the liner shade included in the palette for my brows with the QVS Eyeliner Brush. For the winged liner and mascara, I used my two faves: Bourjois Liner Pinceau and Benefit Rollerlash (not pictured).

And onto the lips, which is my favourite part of this look! I don't have tons of nude matte liquid lipsticks, so I mix up some custom colours, depending on what I want that day. I like the ombre look, with a darker outer line that gradually lightens into the centre of the lips. I use the Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit as a base for the colour and add a bit of darker Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets to it to outline the lips and a little bit of white foundation (old Barry M) in the centre to create an ombre look. I absolutely love the effect! I mixed the colours in a little metal tray and applied the product with the QVS Lip Brush, which is the prefect shape and size!

And here is the finished look. I love it!

Closeup of the lips. I always overdraw them to make them look a bit fuller and more even, as they are not symmetrical naturally.

If you are looking for new brushes, the QVS range offers a huge selection and you can buy them all from Asda. Full Size Brush Set (£13.98), Essential Eye Set (£7.98), Perfection Brush (£6.99), Angled Blusher Brush (£6.49), Bronzer Brush (£6.98), Compact Powder Brush (£5.98).
