Win £500 of John Lewis Vouchers in British Gas History Of Home Competition

I am not ashamed to admit that I keep almost every nostalgic item, because I find it really hard to part with things that mean something to me, or remind me of certain people, moments etc. It is just the way I am :) That's why I couldn't be more excited about giving you an opportunity to enter this fantastic competition hosted in cooperation with British Gas. The prize is absolutely amazing and the lucky winner will receive £500 worth of John Lewis vouchers! How can you enter?

It is very simple! All you have to do is:

-Take a photo of your favourite nostalgic item in your home and post it on your blog.
-Accompany the post with a short description on why it is your favourite item.
-Post a link on this blog post for a chance to win the prize.

(You have to be 18 and a UK resident to enter. Full terms & conditions can be found HERE).

The competition runs from Monday 11th August to Friday 12th September, and the winner will be chosen and announced on Sunday 14th September by me personally! I cannot wait to see your nostalgic items and read all about them.

To give you an idea of a nostalgic item, I am including my own little treasure and a story behind it.

My favourite nostalgic item is this little trinket box. My mum got it when she was younger and for some reason I have always loved it and asked her if I can keep it. I remember putting little stickers on it as a child and two of them are still there :) Sooo cute! I've had this box since I was a teenager and I took it with me when I moved to another country to remind me of my mum. I used to keep small earrings in it, but at the moment it is my little SD card box. Every time I look at it or open it, I think of my mum, I think of my home, my family and about being a little girl. It's funny and amazing how an item can have so much meaning and value to someone. I will keep it forever and hopefully give it to my own daughter one day. I will probably engrave it as well, as it needs some TLC :)

Along with the competition, British Gas has launched an amazing History of Home Heating infographic and you can see it HERE. It is worth checking out and full of interesting facts. I even read it to my toddler and he loved it, especially the visual side.

So... good luck to everyone and I can't wait to see all the entries coming in.

It's about a retro vase which I can't bring myself to part with since I inherited it and how it's come to be so special.
