How long does it take you to get ready?

According to a recent survey, an average woman spends 55 minutes on her appearance every day - an equivalent of 2 weeks a year. As a busy mum, sometimes I have to get ready in a couple of minutes, so I wasn't surprised to find out that most mums spend only 10-15 minutes getting ready every morning. To help me create a quick summer look in 15 minutes or less, I was kindly sent a couple of bits by roomtogrow.co.uk, but most of the products I used are staples in my makeup bag. As you can see on the stopwatch, it took me 12 minutes and 26 seconds to get ready. You can see the result on the photos below :)

After cleansing, toning and moisturising my face (which took me about 5 minutes), I primed my skin with Maybelline The Smoother Primer* and followed with one of my favourite everyday foundations- Bourjous Happy Light. To conceal imperfections and under eye circles, I used Clarins Instant Concealer and set everything with my beloved Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light. To add a little bit of colour to my cheeks, I used the little Clinique Compact*. I have no idea where to get it, I think it's a discontinued product.

I never go out of the house without defining my eyebrows and I quickly filled them in with shade Faint from my Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette, using the Urban Decay Perversion Brush. It's amazing! On my eyelids, I used  a gold Bourjous Colour Edition 24h Eyeshadow and defined the lash line with shade Crave from Naked Basics. Quick sweep of Elizabeth Arden Mascara* on my lashes, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in shade 035 Charm* on my lips and a generous amount of Batiste Dry Shampoo* in my hair and I was done :)

How long does it take you to get ready on an average morning?

*products marked with an asterisk were sent to me for the purpose of this challenge.

  1. To do my makeup and hair? Usually about 45mins to an hour but that's probably because I really enjoy taking my time with it. Most people would rather sleep in but I love getting ready :)

    1. That's my quick, everyday version. With liquid liner, smokey eye, contouring and hair, I take about an hour :)

  3. I think I'm going to go and buy that Angled liner brush! Would help so much when I'm smudging eyeshadow on in the morning to look like I'm wearing eyeliner!

  4. I need about 5-10min for Make up and I leave my hair really straight. Therefore need to brush it and put some hairspray in and then I am off. Probably about the same time as you need.

    1. My hair is naturally very straight, so I just leave it like that too, unless it's a special occasion or I want to look very glam :)

  5. I probably take longer than the average woman if you take skincare regime into consideration. My other half always complains I take too long!,

  7. I feel bad now! For work days, hair and make up probably takes me five minutes max. For something more special, maybe fifteen?

    1. I used to spend 30 minutes on my everyday makeup alone, before I had a baby :) Everything has to be speedy with a demanding little toddler around :) haha

  9. This is such a great post, I think I take about 10 or so minutes to do a simple look, but if I'm going out then I'm definitely gonna need time. Thinking about what I'm going to do to my face probably takes up the most time. I just don't know

But thanks for sharing. Gotta get myself a Basic palette - I love neutrals.

  10. A very fresh, faced look that looks gorgeous on you! I typically spend about 30-45 minutes getting ready because I just enjoy the "me-time".

  13. Wow, it takes me a lot longer to get ready, especially brows and foundation takes me a LONG time. Make-up wise, I take about 30 mins at least for a full face of make-up. If I go simpler, I'd be less ofc :)

  18. Hair and make-up usually take me 30 minutes. 15 minutes for blow-drying my outrageously thick hair and another 15 for make-up: powder, foundation, blush/contour, brows. If I have extra time, then I'll go for mascara, liner, and/or shadow, but I always put on lipstick at the office because I don't want to be late :P
