Clarins Opalescence Collection for Spring 2014

Spring makeup is all about a fresh, radiant complexion, juicy lips and beautifully flushed cheeks. As usual, Clarins didn't disappoint and covered every single aspect of Spring beauty in their stunning new Opalescence collection. The new releases for Spring 2014 include: four cream blushers, an eyeshadow quartet, face & blush palette, 3 new shades of Joli Rouge Brilliant Perfect Shine Sheer Lipstick, 2 new lip gloss shades and a single eyeshadow. There are two more product launching along with the new collection as well: Instant Light Boosting Radiance Complexion Base in three shades and Extra-Comfort Anti-Pollution Cleansing Cream.

Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Base* £26.00

I am pleasantly surprised with this product and I love the way to looks on my skin. It adds a nice glow, reduces redness and evens out skin tone, without masking my complexion. It features a 'High-Lumitech Complex' to brighten and correct imperfections, Katafray extract to moisturise, hydrate and soothe the skin, plus White Tea & Lapsana extracts to protect against the harmful effects of pollution. It is a light, sheer base which can be used as a primer or a tinted moisturiser. I like using it allover my face as a light base and adding a little bit of concealer to hide scars and breakouts. This way my base looks more natural and I only build the coverage where I need it. I have shade 02 (champagne), designed to correct redness, but there are two more shades available: 01(rose) for brightening and 03(peach) for restoring skins lustre. Instant Light Radiance Boosting Base is perfect for those struggle with dull, tired looking skin. It also feels hydrating and soothing, so dry/dehydrated skin types will definitely benefit from using it.

Clarins Cream Blush* £18.00

Available in four shades, the new cream  blushers come in signature gold Clarins compacts and they couldn't be more perfect. The 'cream to powder' formula is very soft and it simply melts into the skin for a natural looking flush of colour. The blushers are enriched with floral waxes from rose, mimosa, jojoba and sunflower to protect against dehydration and pamper the skin and a Light Optimising+ Complex to add a boost of radiance. I was kindly sent shade 01(peach) and 04(rosewood) and they are both gorgeous!

Clarins Joli Rouge Brilliant Perfect Shine Sheer Lipstick* £18.00

The shine of  Joli Rouge Brilliant Perfect Shine Sheer range is incredible and I really like how the formula feels on the lips. Imagine a super hydrating lip balm with an added wash of colour - perfect for Spring! The formula contains a unique Extreme Shine Maxi Lip Complex to plump and moisturise the lips, leaving them really soft , nourished and supple. I am addicted to the two new shades I received, especially the lovely coral shade called Coral Tulip. Pink Orchid is beautiful too and gives the 'my lips but better' look.

Clarins Crystal Lipgloss* £17.00

I often struggle to find good quality clear lip glosses, but this one is what I call PERFECTION! First of all... it smells like blackcurrants and liquorice and it is simply good enough too eat! The formula is gel-like, non-sticky and super glossy and I like using it on it's own or on top of lipsticks. All Clarins lip glosses feel very comfortable on the lips and provide long lasting hydration.

Clarins Opalescence Eye Quartet* £31.00

The embossing on the eye quartet from the new collection is really pretty and as usual... swatching it was heartbreaking... The colours for Spring 2014 include a light sheer pink/lilac, a super shimmery white/silver highlight, a vibrant dark plum and dark grey. There is a nice balance between dark and light shades and you can easily create a subtle daytime look or a dark smokey eye with just four colours. The formula of Clarins eye shadows is easy to apply and blend and can be used dry (for a sheer, natural look) or wet (for intense colour payoff). I am really loving the highlight colour - it has the same texture as the gold shade from the Odyssey Eye Quartet and I like using it in the inner corners.

I am really impressed with the new releases from Clarins and my favourite products are the high-shine lipsticks and Radiance Boosting Complexion Base. I love the blushers, lip gloss and eye shadows too :) They are all gorgeous!

  1. The eyeshadow palette looks so pretty. The silver highlight was quite surprising though, it reminds me of Christmas time for some reason? Hahah xxx
