Superfoods and healthy options for chocoholics

I was recently sent a lovely parcel full of healthy and yummy treats and I am very excited to share my thoughts with you. As a chocoholic, I always crave chocolate, but I do my best to avoid eating unnecessary, processed sugar. I personally prefer the taste of healthy, raw chocolate, but I struggle to find it in supermarkets. That's why I love online stores. They offer a big choice of products and you can get really good deals, if you are willing to spend some time comparing prices etc.

All the products featured in this post are from www.nu3.com - who now offer free UK delivery on orders over £45.00. (Normal delivery charge is £5.19). They offer a big selection of vitamins, supplements, superfoods and natural beauty products and stock some hard to get brands, like Lovechock! (YUM!)

If you follow me on instagram, you will know that I put chia seeds on everything! They go with sweet and savoury foods and are very, very healthy. You should definitely try them , if you are vegetarian, as they are the best plant source of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids! They are also high in fibre, proteins, minerals, antioxidants and vitamins so you can't go wrong with adding these to your food. I try to eat at least 1 tablespoon a day.

I also make chia puddings with these. I simply add 3 tablespoons of chia seeds and my choice of flavouring to a cup, fill it up with almond milk (or coconut milk)  and leave it in the fridge overnight. The seeds absorb liquid and create a thick, yummy, guilt free pudding! I love making mine with cinnamon and honey, or vanilla extract. You can add cocoa powder to make a chocolate one as well. Yum!

I have been using this powder in smoothies to boost my immune system and provide my body with more antioxidants. It is also supposed to speed up metabolism and from my experience - it does. I tried mixing the powder with water as well, but it wasn't nice, so I will stick to adding it too smoothies. As you can see the powder is very dark, which means that is was made of whole acai berries and it contains more nutrients than pink acai berry powders.

This little selection consists of some amazing goji berry and raw chocolate goodies. I thought that I will be the only one who really enjoys it, but... my baby boy and husband loved the flavour of raw/dark chocolate treats too. Zachary really enjoyed the Dark Chocolate Covered Goji Berries and Lovechock bars, while my husband preferred the Ombar Goji Berry Raw Chocolate Bars. You can buy all of these separately as well. I really enjoyed all of the chocolate treats and I might be placing a cheeky order for Lovechock bars and chocolate covered Goji Berries before Christmas, because they taste incredible!

The dried goji berries are perfect for sprinkling over your porridge, pancakes etc. I also like adding them to chia puddings, because once they soak up all the liquid, they taste much better and have a nicer texture. I know that many people don't like the taste of dried Goji berries, but believe me- your body will thank you for eating them! They are full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

The pack includes:
250g of nu3 Naturals Goji Berries, 2x 250g Landgarten Goji Berries in Dark Chocolate, 2 x Ombar Goji Berry Raw Chocolate with Goji Berries, 3 x Lovechock Raw - Organic Goji/Orange Chocolate

If you are a chocoholic, you should definitely try switching to raw chocolate. You don't have to cut out chocolate completely. It is ok, to treat yourself sometimes, but remember that your body doesn't need all the artificial sugars. If you like the look of all the healthy alternatives, make sure to check out what Nu3 have to offer on their website.

*I was kindly sent these free of charge, but you all know that these are the things
I normally eat and buy anyway, because I am obsessed with healthy treats.
