High End Makeup Worth The Splurge

I like to treat myself to high end makeup every now and then, but I always do a lot of research, before I splurge on something expensive. There is always a small chance that I won't like it, but.... I am happy with most of my high end purchases. Today I would like to share some of the makeup gems I fell in love with.

My favourite high end foundation is Lancome Teint Miracle (£27.50). It's been my Holy Grail base for many years and nothing compares to it in my opinion. It gives great coverage, looks very natural and lasts on my skin all day. For reference- I have combination skin, with an oily t-zone and dry cheeks. Read my full review here.

I don't use powders every day, but I always wanted to try the beautiful Guerlain Meteorites Pearls (£35.50). The packaging is to die for and the product itself is lovely. I got them in shade 03 Teint Dore and they are a perfect match for my skin tone (with yellow undertones). The pearls give my skin the most beautiful finish, without looking too matte or cakey. I would say, that they make my skin look slightly photoshopped, add a nice glow, reduce the appearance of marks and scarring and leave my face with a lovely, silky finish. They have a tiny bit of shimmer, but it is very subtle. I am seriously impressed with the Meteorites Pearls and I think that they are worth every penny.

There is one high end blusher I adore- Chanel Powder Blush in shade 82 Reflex. It is absolutely gorgeous and applies like a dream. Retailing at £31.00, it isn't cheap, but it is definitely my favourite cheek colour. The packaging scream luxury and the colour lasts on my cheeks for 8h+, adding a beautiful peachy glow. Perfect!

Another Chanel product worth the splurge is the Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick in shade 55 Romance (£24.00). It is the perfect pink - subtle and girly. I use it, when I want my makeup to look perfect and I will definitely repurchase it in the future. Read my full review here

One more high end lipstick worth mentioning is the YSL Rouge Volupte in shade 9 Caress Pink(£24.50) It is darker than Chanel Romance and has a more opaque, satin finish. It glides onto the lips, feels very moisturising and the heavy gold packaging is super luxurious! I can't wait to try the Shine edition.

The last item isn't from a typical luxury brand, like YSL, Chanel or Guerlain, but it is the most expensive beauty product I have ever bought. It is the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette(£36.00). I had the original Naked as well, but I figured that I don't need both. Naked 2 features beautiful, wearable shades and it is perfect for travelling. The quality of UD eyeshadows is amazing. It is the best formula on the market in my opinion. If you are an eyeshadow newbie, Naked 2 or Naked are the best choice.

If you own any of the products featured in this post, let me know if they worked for you. Oh, and I would love to hear your high end recommendations as well :)

*all products bought with my own money or received as a gift from my husband :)

  4. I have all the same products as you apart from the Chanel lipstick, thats the one brand ive never tried a lipstick from which is maybe one i should try out :)

Lovely blog,Follow back if you like

  5. Great post! I bought the Naked palette and the Naked Basics and I love them both! All my other eyeshadows seemed to have been pushed to the back for now. I keep telling myself that I don't need the Naked 2, but I WANT IT! haha
I would LOVE to be able to buy a YSL or Chanel lipstick. Man, they're so beautiful, but at over £20 I just can't justify it :(

  6. I want a Chanel blush so bad. The packaging is so pretty! :D

  7. Loved your High End...I love me some high end too!
And I also do research, when I buy and don't like it I use it anyways!

  8. The Guerlain powder looks beautiful! I'm obsessed with my Naked palettes, I don't think I need any other eyeshadows now that I own both :) xx

  9. Ahhhh so many beautiful gems in one place!! I definitely have wanted to try out those Geurlain Meteorites but just haven't been able to splurge because I own so many face powders already; once I use them up I want to snatch the pearls! I just bought the Dior Addict Lip Glow and, while pricey for what seems like a basic chapstick, is STUNNING and definitely something to check out :)

  10. " Lancome Teint Miracle " I have it , and I really like. :)

  11. Great post! Those pearls sound so lovely :)

  12. I have been using Chanel Le Volume mascara and it's my favourite mascara I have used!

  13. Great Post :) I also like to go on the occasional high end make up splurge, my favourite brand being Benefit. I love the look of those Guerlain Metorites so maybe I'll have to start saving up for them and I'd love a piece of Chanel make up, probably an iconic red lipstick!

  14. I don't have the Naked 2, just the 1 which is a recent (end of spending ban) purchase and I do tend to wear it most days :) I love Chanel blushers too, I have Orchid Rose which is so so pretty!

  15. The Naked palette is for sure my best splurge!

  16. All products look so beautiful, such luxury packaging ^^

  18. Lancome mascara is also really good, one of the best i've ever used, you should try it out!

  19. I love the Naked 2 pallet! I usually wear the shadows more in the fall, though. It has lots of warm sparkly high quality colors!

    Jasmine Catches Butterflies ʚϊɞ

  23. Great post - I have almost all the products and loove them as well! :) x

  24. My mom has a Chanel blush and it goes really patchy after about 30 minutes! I love their lipsticks though

  25. I am in love with Guerlain packaging and the smell of their products is just beautiful! It makes me feel like a lady to use their products!

  26. I want everything on your list. I have the original Naked palette but still want to try the Naked 2 and I have my eye on the YSL shine lipstick in #2 for fall.

  27. I am in love with the YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks, such a treat and defo worth the splurge

  28. Very nice! I only have the UD naked palette, but have swatched these other products for so many countless times *sigh*. The only product I didn't really like are the YSL voluptés. They're a bit too creamy for my liking. I haven't tried the Shine ones though. I'm more in the market for a Chanel lipstick than a YSL one, I think.

My mom uses the same foundation and I've wanted to give it a try, but I find it very hard to buy high end foundations because I'm scared I'll like it too much and never want to go back to drugstore foundations and I'd be broke haha ;)

I really like the YSL cream blushes, blend like a dream and stain so they stay on for hours :)
