Neal's Yard Remedies Clarifying Mahonia Skin Gel review

Neal's Yard Remedies Clarifying Mahonia Skin Gel* 10ml £15.50 link

"A purifying treatment to restore balance to blemished skin. Decongesting. Encourages a clearer complexion. Mahonia, calendula, gotu kola and thyme are combined to cleanse and tighten the skin, as hyaluronic acid and aloe vera hydrate and soothe."
I've tried many spot treatments and most of them work really well on my skin.
I don't get many breakouts on my face, but I have been getting quite a lot of them under my jawline.
It is  a bit odd, but I am happy to say that I finally have it under control.
The NYR Clarifying Mahonia Skin Gel is a wonderful little treatment - a blend of unique ingredients, created to fight breakouts and restore balance of blemish prone skin. It is a brown gel with a very strong and unusual scent.
I can definitely smell calendula and alcohol, but most spot treatments have a very strong scent, so I am ok with that :)
I use it in the evening on affected areas and the next morning, any breakouts are reduced and most of the the redness is gone as well. It doesn't dry out the skin around breakouts, because the hyaluronic acid and aloe vera are very hydrating, keeping the moisture in.

I really like this treatment and a little goes a long way  so it is definitely worth the £15.50 price tag.
It is made with 97% organic ingredients and like all NYR products it is cruelty free.

I really like the packaging, but... my husband is clumsy and he smashed the bottle!
I was really upset, because I only used half of the amount and I really, really like this product.
When I run out of my other spot treatment I will be repurchasing this, because I actually miss it!

If you decide to buy this product, be careful with it or keep it away from clumsy people :)

  1. Had been wondering whether to give this product a go for a few weeks after randomly getting the same as you under jaw! Will definitely give it a go!! Thanks x

  2. Brilliant had been debating whether to give this a go after having the same as you describe randomly under jaw! Will def give it a go now!! Thanks! Fab blog as always x

  3. Wow this sounds amazing :) I'm always on the look out for new spot treatments because my skin gets used to them after a while. Great review! You take such lovely photos xx

  4. Oooo This sounds like a lovely treatment :) My current spot treatment isn't really doing any wonders on me so I may pick this one up to replace it!! Too bad it's in such a breakable bottle though as I'm a bit of a klutz myself :p

  5. This sounds lovely. I dropped my original Liz Earle superskin concentrate because I'm quite clumsy too! Was gutted!

  6. That sounds great, I might have to get a bottle to have at the ready for breakouts!

  7. Aww, a friend of mine once smashed a NARS Laguna bronzer (I hadn't even hit pan on it yet). I had worked so hard to save up for it. I know how it feels for someone to break something you really like. x

  8. This sounds great! I've been getting bad breakouts, too. I wonder how this would work for me! Maybe I'll try it out :) LOVE your blog Sandra!

  9. I use their everyday moisturiser. It is very rich, which is good for the coming winter, but not for cooler seasons. Did you find it soaked in well? As spot v mosituriser are different.

    1. It absorbs really quickly and doesn't leave a residue. I love it.

    2. Cannot wait to buy it but a shame its gone up in price to £16.50,im sure it will be worth it thou :) xx
