Do you feel as though your fashion game has been lacking lately? Maybe you want to improve the way you look but just don’t know where to start. Either way, this is the guide for you.

Adjust your Clothing

The first thing you need to try and do is adjust your clothing. Ideally, you need to avoid alterations as it is an extra cost that you need to deal with. It’s also more effort as well. If you want to make sure that your clothes fit then one thing you can do is find alternatives from different brands. Things like shortening the hemline on your pants or taking up the sleeve on your shirt will help you here, and it is a great way for you to make quick changes that go on to benefit you later down the line. If you want to avoid altering your clothing items yourself then this is understandable. With long jackets, you can roll the sleeves up to your elbow. This will give you a sophisticated look, not to mention that you can always layer it by adding a long-sleeved top underneath.

Wear the Right Colors

You probably have a color that you can slip on and feel instantly refreshed and focused. This is great, and you should focus on wearing that color as much as possible. It may be that the color highlights the whites of your eyes or even the brightness of your eye color. If you want to push the limits a bit then one thing you can do is opt for a color that reflects what you are doing that day. If you are going out for a bike ride and having breakfast at a local cafe then you might want to choose different colors than if you’re going to an external stakeholder meeting. Either way, this is a great way for you to let your personality shine through.

Swap a Cardigan for a Relaxed Jacket

Cardigans do have a purpose. They are fine to wear if you want to grab some groceries or if you want to take a trip down to the park. With that in mind, they can look a little unpolished too. If you want to help yourself here then make sure that you swap your cardigan for a nice, relaxed jacket. This will give you an extra layer but at the same time, it is way more fashionable. A denim jacket is a great alternative here, not to mention that you can wear it with a dress, jeans, skirt or t-shirt. There are so many denim jackets that have a bit of stretch in them too, so you don’t have to deal with rigidity or restriction.

Own Less Shoes

Are you guilty of owning a ton of shoes? If so then now is the time for you to let some of them go. If you don’t then you may find that you end up struggling to pair your outfits and this is stress you don’t need. Ideally, you just need to have a pair of white trainers, black boots and some beige flats. The great thing about shoes like this is that they work with any outfit. Your lifestyle is an important thing to consider when choosing shoes too. If you walk to work then heels might not be required, but with that in mind, you will need to get a comfortable pair of boots in case it ends up raining. If you work in a highly professional environment, bright white sneakers might not be suitable, but if you have a smart-casual dress code, this could form part of your outfit without any issue.

Wear a Single Accessory

Just like your shoes, you don’t have to buy a ton of accessories. If you want, buy a few statement pieces so you always have a few pieces to cycle between. You can easily buy ocean jewelry online or you can choose accessories based on colors and textures. By doing this, you can then hone in on your style without going overboard. If you don’t have any right now then try and make sure that you have some gold hoop earrings, some smaller silver earrings and a nice necklace. If you are stuck as to what color to go for then silver is always easier to pair but with that in mind, it can suck a lot of warmth out of your outfit. If you’re opting for warmer colors, then gold is the way to go, but if this isn’t possible, a white beaded necklace can work very well.
