Pure Potions Hair Care review

I am always on the lookout for new natural hair care product and my latest discovery is the Pure Potions hair and scalp range, suitable for sensitive skin and those prone to eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis and free from nasty ingredients.

The Natural Shampoo*(100ml, £10.99) is a mild, unperfumed, entirely soap and SLS-free formula, and doesn’t contain any of the usual irritating synthetic nasties found in standard shampoos. It features a blend of herbs (nettle, calendula, chamomile and chickweed) and natural herbal extracts and essential oils as preservatives (honeysuckle, sweet basil, clove and lemongrass). The foaming ingredients in the shampoo are really gentle and plant-based, derived from sugar, corn, soy, castor oil and coconut. The formula foams up nicely and you only need a small amount to gently cleanse your hair, without stripping your scalp from its natural oils. It smells absolutely gorgeous as well with sweet and citrusy notes. I am a big fan.

After washing my hair with the Natural Shampoo, I follow with the Natural Conditioner*(100ml, £10.99) which is specially formulated for those with dry, sensitive or allergy-prone skin and has a subtle natural scent. It helps to nourish sensitive scalps with nutrient-rich hemp seed oil and the same herbal blend you can find in the shampoo. It also contains growth-boosting arginine and oatmeal to give your hair a silky feel and a smooth and glossy look. It's great for detangling hair as well, as I tested it on Mia's wild locks and it helped me brush it much easier.

The Scalp Oil Skin Salvation*(50ml, £14.99) is a real star of the show, as it helped to clear Mia's cradle cap which I have struggled to get rid of since she was born! She still had remains of it on parts of her scalp, very dry and flaky and this oil cleared it after just two uses! I am amazed! I applied it to her scalp and kept it on all day and then washed it out with the natural shampoo and then repeated it next week and it worked wonders! The oil is formulated with nettle, calendula and chickweed, antimicrobial and stimulating essential tea tree and rosemary oils and hemp and borage seed oil. It's main purpose is for an overnight conditioning treatment for the scalp or any sore patches, but it's also a great oil for the full body.

It can be used as a beard oil, a foot rub, a massage oil, a topical rescue oil, for reducing blemishes or purifying the skin, as an inhalation oil etc. It can even be used to prevent nits - you simply apply a tiny bit to your kids scalp and the scent will keep the pesky visitors away. I also used it as a shower oil and a bath oil as it smells amazing and is very therapeutic. It can be used on babies from 6 months, so I would definitely recommend it for  cradle cap. It's also cruelty-free and suitable for vegans.

Overall, I really like the products, especially the scalp oil, as it cured my little ones cradle cap and it's an all round  multipurpose wonder!
