Nivea Cellular Anti-Age Skincare

Nivea is a brand I have been familiar with since a very young age. In fact, it was the first skincare brand I have ever used, because both of my grandmums and my mum have been using their creams for decades! Most Nivea products are very cheap and do the job, but the new Nivea Cellular range feels much more high end and luxurious, featuring three key anti-ageing ingredients: Magnolia Extract, Hyaluronic Acid and Creatine. The formula promises to accelerate cell renewal, reduce & prevent wrinkles, plump & firm the skin and keep it moisturised and happy.

The serum is definitely the most luxurious product from the new range, with a gorgeous velvety texture that melts into the skin, leaving it soft, plump and hydrated. It is an intensive, concentrated treatment and you use it before your day time or night time moisturiser. If you can't afford all three of the new Cellular products, this is the one you should invest in. It's reasonably priced and very effective. If you like the feeling of silky smooth skin, you will love it. It is hydrating, preps my skin beautifully for daytime and nourishes it at night time. It comes with a pump as well, which makes it absolutely perfect! I am only 26, so I didn't expect to see the anti-ageing benefits, but I can imagine it working wonders on more mature skin.

I am slightly obsessed with eye creams and I go through them really quickly. Sometimes I use them 4 times a day, but twice a day is the minimum and I never miss this step in my routine. I like my eye creams light, hydrating and soothing and this one ticks all the boxes. The formula was especially designed for the delicate skin around the eyes and just like all the products from the new range, it contains Hyaluronic Acid, Magnolia Extract and Creatine. It keeps my under eye area soft, smooth and hydrated. It also reduces puffiness and the appearance of fine lines.

The day cream is much thicker than I expected, but it sinks into the skin pretty quickly and works nicely as a makeup base. It feels soothing and I found it very well suited to my normal/combination skin. It does exactly what it says on the tin and leaves my skin soft, nourished, firm and smooth. It also contains SPF 15 UVB + UVA protection system to prevent UV-induced ageing, cell damage and age spots.

The night cream is much lighter than the day cream, which is perfect for those who don't like thick, pore clogging formulas. I noticed that some heavy night creams tend to break me out and I have to use them sparingly. This one is different. Despite it's light texture, it is super hydrating and helps to regenerate the skin overnight, providing nourishment and moisture. It delivers the same results I would normally expect from a much heavier night time cream, without the risk of clogging pores. Combined with the serum, it also adds a nice glow from within and makes the skin look more radiant and plumper.

Overall, Nivea's Cellular range is really good value for money and I would definitely recommend it, if you want to invest in effective anti-ageing formulas without breaking the bank. All four products smell lovely as well (very similar to the traditional Nivea scent). Just like I said before, I can't really comment on the anti-ageing benefits/results, because I am only 26 and I am happy with my skin anyway, but... the full range is lovely and leaves my skin feeling super soft, plump and healthy.

PS. After trying the range myself, I let my mum try all four products as well and she is very pleased with the results. She loves the texture, the scent and most importantly the feeling of smoother, firmer and younger looking skin after just a couple of days of using Nivea's new offerings. Impressive! I might ask her for some before and after photos and I will update the post in the future.

Nivea's Cellular Anti-Age Skin Refining Serum, Eye Cream, Day Cream and Night Cream are available from Boots, priced at £14.99 each.

  4. Sadly I have always struggled with Nivea Facial Skin Care :( I can use their products on my body no problem however when it comes to my face I just break out and turn into a greasy mess. These do sound very nice though so I will be showing this to my mum as I know she likes Nivea.
