Spring fashion with Elvi

this post contains gifted items
I was recently contacted by Elvi Clothing who kindly let me pick a few pieces from their website, including this stunning maxi dress which I am completely in love with it! With Spring weather approaching (fingers crossed!) I though I should probably switch up my style a bit and opt for lighter colours and more floral patterns, which I have a soft spot for, but I also chose a navy high neck pleated number (you will see it at the end of this post).

The maxi dress I opted for is from Elvi's latest collection and it's the MIA Printed Smock Dress*. It's currently on offer reduced to £45.00. The main reason why I picked this dress is the design and pattern, but as you might know - my daughters name is Mia, so it was just meant to be! Elvi cater for sizes 8-28 and this dress has lots of room, so you might be able to wear it even if you're larger than a 28. I personally opted for a 24, as I wasn't sure about the fit and wanted to size up just in case, but I feel like my usual 20 or 22 would fit me too, as it's very comfortable and airy. It is made with a slightly sheer fabric, but has short lining underneath so it's not see through at all. The sleeves are flared with an elastic at the wrist and the neckline and waistline are also elasticated. The detail on the waist features drawstrings and two removable round buttons.

I actually had someone leave a vile comment on one of the photos of me in this dress on Instagram, saying that I look like a Rabbi and that it's horrendous, makes me look shapeless and other more horrid things, but guess what? The dress actually gives me an illusion of a waist (which I don't have) and I feel pretty and feminine in it. Wouldn't it be great if everyone was nice to each other? I adore this dress and I felt amazing in it. I accessorised it with a brown laser cut bag and brown boots and I might wear it with a brown belt in the future as well, but I would have to hide the waist detail (you can take the buttons off, but not the drawstrings).

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen me wearing another beautiful Elvi dress, which I wanted to include in this post as well, as it's on sale at the moment and I think it's stunning. It's the FRANKIE High Neck Dress*(£26.00) and I love the navy colour and the pleated detail. I feel like the dress makes a statement and all I need is a pair of heels, red lipstick and earrings and I am ready to go without worrying too much about styling the outfit. I got so many compliments when I wore it to a meeting.

Both dresses are available from with 40% off during their mid season sale.
