Jamie's Italian Super Lunch (Glasgow)

It's no secret, that Jamie's Italian is mine (and mu husband's ) favourite restaurant. We absolutely love it and we have never been disappointed with the food or the service. Quite the opposite actually - every time we go, we end up loving it more and more! This time, we went to try the Super Lunch menu as a little celebration for my husband's 30th birthday. It was soooooooo good!

The Super Lunch menu is an absolute bargain, considering the quality of the food. When you go to Jamie's you can expect the best meat, the best veg and fish. Everything is fresh, seasonal and made with a lot of love! The Super Lunch menu is served from Monday to Friday from 12-6pm and costs £11.95 for 2 courses and £13.95 for 3 courses. BARGAIN!

We started with virgin ginger mojitos, as usual. It's a little tradition we have. YUM!

Scott's starter was simple, but absolutely delicious! He opted for  Evesham asparagus with a truffled & fried free-range egg & Parmesan shavings ( it costs an extra £2).

My starter was sooo sooo good, I had to stop myself from making 'yuuuuum and mmmmmm noises'. I enjoyed it so much! It might look like simple battered fish, but it was Fritto Misto - crispy fried sustainable fish & squid tossed in fennel-spiced flour with garlic & lemon aioli. It was possibly the best starter I have ever had in my entire life. I can't stop thinking about it. Fried to perfection, full of flavour and the portion was huge!

 Dipping action.

Time for the mains! I had the Gennaro's Chicken Club - a brioche bun, stuffed with chargrilled, marinated free-range chicken, crispy pancetta, spicy ‘nduja mayo, fontal cheese, tomato & rocket. It was incredible! The chicken at Jamie's is the best of the best - I mean it! It is full of flavour, with crispy skin and soft, tender meat. I had it on a salad before as well and OMG - amazing! That's how REAL chicken tastes like!

I had a side of  Funky Chips with my chicken club (burger). I always order these at Jamie's. So good! The garlic and parsley add such a nice flavour.

Scott opted for the steak of course. After all, it was his birthday lunch. This dish costs and extra £3. The marinated skirt steak is flash grilled & served with garlic butter, aged Parmesan, slaw & fries. I had to try it of course (I let Scott try my dish too) and it was really yummy! .

Another round of mocktails! We do love them!

I adore the quirky decor at Jamie's Italian. It makes me feel at home.

Did someone say dessert? Of course! How could I not have a sweet treat, right? Just look at this amazing cake! It's Jamie's Favourite Lemon Polenta Cake with Summer berry-rippled crème fraîche & lemon zest. It was soft and moist and lemony and an absolute dream! I normally opt for creamy, vanilla desserts, but it was such a good choice! I have to recreate it at home.

Scott had the Epic Chocolate Brownie ( I am pretty sure he has this every time) with a rich chocolate sauce, salted caramel popcorn gelato & caramelised popcorn. It's a perfect dessert for chocolate lovers. I've had it before and I really, really liked it!

Can we take a  moment to appreciate the presentation? Looks delicious!

We had such an amazing time trying the Super Lunch menu at Jamie's Italian Glasgow. We had the same waiter as the last time and he was the nicest person ever. The service is always fantastic, the staff are welcoming and helpful and really know the menu and ingredients.

And the food... Still my number one! It's simply incredible and I can't recommend it enough!

Make sure to pop in to try the Super Lunch menu, it's such a great price and the dishes are amazing!
