Models Own Makeup

I am a bit late to the party (I feel like I start most of my reviews this way, haha), but hey... Models Own do makeup! I love their nail polishes and they were one of the first brands I fell in love with back when I started blogging, so it's nice to see them expanding their makeup collection and branching out into a new territory. I think they had a few makeup bits on offer already, but the new selection is huge!

The Models Own makeup range consists of eyeshadow palettes, blushers, highlighters, lipsticks, eyeliners and more and I am pretty impressed with all the formulas and the shade selection.

Let's start with the packaging! The outer boxes are a pastel & neon dream and exactly what I would expect from Models Own. The actual makeup comes mostly in white plastic packaging with a silver brand logo. I quite like the simplicity.

My favourite from the bunch is definitely the Sculpt & Glow Liquid Highlighter*(£9.99) in a stunning Rose Gold colour (there are 3 more shades to choose from). It adds the most beautiful glow to the skin and looks very natural. I also adore the Blusher Stick*(£6.99) as the cream formula is perfect for Summer and it blends into the skin beautifully. The peach colour goes nicely with my complexion and it is super pigmented so a little goes a long way. The Bronzing Powder in Deep Tan is great for adding a bit of colour to my skin and also for contouring, without looking orange or muddy. It is just a perfect shade for me and it blends in so nicely. PS. There are also some fab highlight, blush and contour palettes in the collection and they look pretty impressive.

The lip products are super pigmented, especially the Lip Gunk*(£10.99). It reminds me of OCC lip tars and it comes in a gloss and metallic finish. You have to apply it very carefully with a brush and you can use the little tray provided to play around with it and even mix it with other colours. I am into matte lips at the moment, but I adore the bright red (Wild) and the metallic purple (Fusion). The Luxestick Velvet Lipstick*(£7.99) is more up my street, as I love the finish and the bright pink Plush Peony looks lovely on me and feels very comfortable on the lips.

The Sweet Dreams Eyeshadow Palette*(£14.99) would have been ideal for the festival season, but if you love a bit of colour on your lids, you will love it. The shades include a selection of pretty pastels and a few neutrals to make it all more wearable. So pretty! The khol and kajal are nicely pigmented and easy to blend, but I didn't get on with the eyebrow duo pencil at all (not precise enough, a bit messy and wrong colour).

You can see more detailed photos and swatches below.

Overall, most of the products are lovely and I adore the packaging. These are some of the first Models Own makeup releases, but there is a new limited edition collection out at the moment called 'Dare To Bare' featuring lots of beautiful nude shades, so make sure to check it out!
