Spring Wardrobe Update

When it comes to fashion, I usually stick to what I know best, which means black, black and more black :) This Spring, I decided to add a little bit of colour to my wardrobe, inspired by my two favourite Spring trends - pastels and florals.

Armed with a gift card, I went to the beautiful Princes Square shopping centre and tried my best to avoid black and grey pieces, which was a hard task, as I am always drawn to the dark side. Princes Square is simply amazing, with stores like COS (love it!), Ted Baker (obsessed!), Whistles, Joules, French Connection, Vivienne Westwood, Kurt Geiger and more high end brands.

Glasgow is fantastic for fashion lovers, as the Style Mile is packed with great shops including Buchannan Galleries, John Lewis, Princes Square, Frasers, Argyll Arcade and St Enochs Centre. From popular high street stores, to high end fashion and beauty, there is something for everyone, all within a square mile of Glasgow city centre. Most of the shops are open till late as well (7-8pm), so you can shop till you drop, even after work.

Obviously, Glasgow isn't just about shopping and offers so much much more. In fact, it is an incredible travel destination and once you visit, you will either stay for good (like me, I fell in love and moved country!) or come back time after time! You can read all about what Glasgow has to offer here: www.peoplemakeglasgow.com.

After snooping around Princes Square, I ended up picking up a couple of things from COS and Ted Baker. I love the simplicity of COS designs and the quality of the fabrics is just lovely. And when it comes to Ted Baker... my collection is getting out of hand :) From purses, to bags, shoes, clothes and accessories - I have it all.

This Asymmetric silk drape top in a light peach colour is perfect for Spring. It will look lovely with jeans, leggings (longs my bum is covered) and skirts and adds a nice elegant touch to my wardrobe. It is simple, yet beautiful and I love the way the silk flows and covers my tummy, which is my biggest insecurity.

To go with the top, I picked up the Ted Baker Secret Trellis scarf* with a gorgeous floral print and I am in love! I wish it was a bit longer and wider, as I love oversized scarfs, but the design was too pretty to resist.

I wasn't 100% sure about the Ted Baker Immey bow details ballerina pumps, but they didn't have these in other colours, so I went for the light pink with a rose gold metal bow. I must admit, I was a bit disappointed with the selection of flats at the Ted Baker branch I went to :(

The rose gold bows are so gorgeous! I just hope I get as much wear out of these, as I would from a black pair.

As you can see, the scarf goes perfectly with the COS top.

It's all about the details :)

I apologise for the mirror selfie, but I am lucky to brush my hair these days with the kids being ill and me trying to do the housework with one hand while breastfeeding an 8 month old chunk in a baby carrier.

I was worried that the light pink might clash with black jeans and leggings, but wearing a black cardigan with the light top and scarf balances it all out nicely.

The black waterfall crochet cardi is from Lovedrobe. The quality of it is amazing and it was an absolute bargain!

Have you updated your wardrobe with some Spring pieces yet?
