Valentine's Day Gift Guide 2016

I am not sure if all of you celebrate Valentine's Day, but I absolutely love it. It is not just for couples in my opinion. It is all about sharing the love and spending some quality time together, even as a family. It is also a great excuse to show the person/people you love that you care. Whether it's a big present or a simple card, it's the thought that counts. I have some ideas for you today, from very obvious ones to some more creative options. Enjoy :)

Valentine's Day wouldn't be the same without flowers. I love fresh flowers and roses are definitely in my top 3. Such a classic gift. Red roses are possibly the most popular romantic gift, don't you think?

This beautiful bouquet* was kindly sent to me by FloraQueen, a website offering worldwide flower delivery. I must admit, these are the most beautiful roses I have ever seen. The stems are really long and the actual rose heads are huge! They aren't in full bloom yet, so I am assuming that they will look even bigger and more beautiful in their full glory. Stunning bouquet! You simply can't go wrong with red roses.

This photo cushion* would make a really special gift for your loved one. The quality of the print is fantastic and it feels very well made too. I picked my favourite photo of me and my husband to go on the cushion, as we don't really have many pictures of us on display. I love it! I am also planning to order one with a collage of some photos of the kids. I think it will look lovely. You can order photo cushions and many other photo gifts from Snapfish

And if you're on a budget, this photo frame from Home Bargains would be ideal! The hearts float in front of the photo, like in a snow globe. So cute!

Slightly different gift, but something very, very practical - heart shaped tweezers by Shavata*(£25.00). I already have these in pink and they are the best tweezers I have ever used. Soo good!

Another popular choice for him and her: fragrance. Whether it's a bottle of their favourite scent, or something new, it is a nice gesture. This Cosmopolitan EDP*(£28.00) is a combination of pineapple, mandarin, redberries, saffron, jasmine, sandalwood, vanilla, musk and a touch of spice.

For him, we have the Gant fragrance*(£35.00). Inspired by the freshness of the salty sea and old ships, the scent is very sophisticated and masculine. It features fresh marine notes, a touch of wood, lemon, coriander and lavender. Lovely!

And if you prefer gifting home fragrance, this Charles Farris Garden Of Eden Diffuser*(£32.00) is the one! It smells soooo good! A blend of tuberose, lily of the valley, fragrant jasmine and ylang. The design of the bottle is gorgeous too and the wicks are the thickest ones I have ever seen, which is meant to release the fragrance better.

Now onto the creative part. I made this Valentine's Day hamper last minute after a quick trip to Home Bargains. I swear... this shop is lethal! They have so many bargains, it is just too hard to resist buying everything. I used a wicker basket I already had and filled it with a selection of goodies.

We have some popcorn tubs with microwavable popcorn (perfect for a movie night!), a jar of marshmallows, Love Hearts, heart shaped lollipops and chocolates, a heart shaped egg pan, heart print socks, and an 'I love you' toast stamp. I also added a little pink hearts Emma Bridgewater espresso mug, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and a heart shaped balloon.

And as a little sweet treat, instead of traditional chocolates, try the Haagen-Dazs strawberry cheesecake ice cream. It's one of my favourite flavours, right after pralines and cream. Dreamy!

Do you have any plans for Valentine's Day?
