Pregnancy update: 30 weeks

There was nothing interesting happening for the past couple of weeks, so I waited till my recent growth scan to update you on the pregnancy. I am actually surprised that I didn't get any extra scans in my 1st pregnancy, because I was measuring huge for dates and my private scan predicted a 9lb+ baby. Anyway... At least I know what to expect this time.

As you can see, we managed to get a lovely profile picture of our baby at the scan. I just can't believe there is a little human inside me. It's just magical, isn't it? I find it surreal, amazing and freaky at the same time, haha.  Our bodies are simply amazing! It really is a miracle.

So the scan confirmed, that baby will be be big. Her head is measuring ideal for dates, but her body measures 4 weeks ahead! She is in the 95th percentile though, so it's nothing to worry about. Just  another big baby. My blood pressure, sugar levels etc are all perfect. No signs of gestational diabetes or preeclampsia.  I am just worried, that I will struggle to push her out and end up repeating the nightmare delivery I had to experience with Zachary. I just want to recover quickly this time, because I have a toddler to look after.

I have another growth scan at 36 weeks and they are planning to start membrane sweeps at 38 weeks to make sure I deliver before my due date or at least not after my due date. I am praying for an easier delivery this time.

I finally picked up a couple of bits and bobs for the baby. Some new blankets, cute little vests, Lamaze toys, bows and tutus. I also went through Zachary's baby clothes to see what I can use. As I gave most neutral things to my sister when she had a baby, 90% of what's left is quite boyish, but seriously... when you wake up in the middle of the night to a massive poo explosion, you just don't care about the colour of a babygrow. You have to change the baby in the morning anyway, so it doesn't matter.

How far along? 30 weeks.

Total weight gain: 10lbs. Longs I only gain the recommended 0.5lbs per week from now on, I will be fine. I am just worried I might swell up again in the final weeks.

Maternity clothes? I still live in leggings, but during the little heatwave we experienced recently, I was melting! I am not sure how I will survive this Summer! Maxi dresses perhaps?

Cravings? I am still craving watermelon like a lunatic! I can't stop! I am also loving porridge with almond (or coconut) milk, lots of fruit, nuts, seeds and honey. Yum! Oh, and cherries! Sooo good! Brick smelling obsession is still strong...  I want to eat bricks! WTF?

Stretch marks? I think I am getting new ones above my belly button. It's hard to tell though, because I am literally covered in stretch marks from my 1st pregnancy.

Best moments this week: Seeing baby on the screen :)

Miss anything? Being able to eat stinky, mouldy and blue cheeses :)

Movement? The kicks are getting really strong!

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope.

Gender? Baby girl :)

Labour signs? Nope.

Symptoms? Still experiencing terrible SPD/PPGP. I am supposed to get a support belt for it though and it's meant to help. It's not getting worse though, so it's a good sign. I was told that it will only get worse each week, but I am secretly hoping it just stays at the same level.

Sleep? Not amazing, but I have been taking little naps when I feel exhausted during the day.

Belly button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off?  Off.

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy.

Looking forward to Zachary's 4th birthday party :)
