My simple hair styling routine + new tools

I don't use heat on my hair too often, but when I do, I always opt for soft curls. My hair is naturally poker straight and I am not a fan of that look, so I add some movement to it once a week. I don't know why, but it makes me feel much more feminine and confident.

The first step (after washing and conditioning with good products- I use a variety of brands) is always heat protection and I am currently using the Paul Mitchell Heat Seal. I am on my second bottle and I really like it. It protects, adds shine and leaves my hair feeling really soft. When my ends feel a bit dry, I apply a couple of drops of a good hair oil as well. The Redken Diamond Oil is lovely. Now onto the actual styling.

I start by blow drying my hair with my new amazing hair dryer - the BaByliss Pro ItaliaBRAVA*(£120.00). I know... it's very pricey, but it is soooo good! It's powered by a special MaxLife™ PRO brushless motor, designed in collaboration with Ferrari to deliver up to 10,000 hours of high-speed drying (compared with just 700 hours of other styling tools).

BaByliss Pro ItaliaBRAVA is very powerful (2400W to be exact) and provides stronger air pressure and faster airflow (20,000rpm) to deliver the best results. I was worried that due to the extreme power, it will be very loud, but it is not. In fact, it is quieter than any other hair dryer I own. It features 2 ultra-slim nozzles, 12 heat/speed setting combinations, a cold shot and Nano Titanium & ionic technology for precise, ultra-smooth, high shine finish.

I must admit, I can't blow dry my hair 'properly'... I have tried to do an 'at home salon blow dry' many times, but I just can't. Just me? Or do you find it very difficult too? What I normally do is just split my hair into 3 sections and dry them from the roots down, brushing through with a round brush. I am sooo bad at this. Seriously...

Once my hair is completely dry, I use The Original Iron* by Cloud Nine (£129.95) and curl my hair with it. I am pretty sure that everyone knows this 'trick', but just in case you don't - watch a quick youtube tutorial and your life will change forever :) haha. The Cloud Nine straighteners are really good and they give me a better curl than my GHD's! I usually only curl from the mid-lengths down, for a more natural look, making sure to curl the front sections away from my face.

The Original Iron offers a variety of heat settings, from 100 degrees to 200 degrees. I use the highest setting, as the plates glide through the hair like a dream so the heat is only applied to each section for seconds. No dragging or catching the hair, thanks to the mineral infused plates.

You can really see the healthy shine here.
Once I am done with styling, I use my favourite hair spray - L'OrĂ©al Paris Elnett Satin Diamond Hold. It's the best one I have tried so far, as it doesn't leave a horrible residue or make my hair feel crispy and dry. Once the hair spray settles a bit, I gently brush out the curls and add a little bit of Osis Dust It Powder to my roots for extra volume. That's it :)
