Pregnancy Update: 13-15 weeks

I can't believe I am almost 4 months pregnant! Just when I thought I was going to feel great for the next 6 months, me & Zachary got the flu (AGAIN!) and it was worse than ever! Apparently there are 4 different strains of flu around at the moment. Fab... I had fever for a couple of days, a bad cough, blocked sinuses and... wait for it.... conjunctivitis! Again, I caught it from Zachary, who brought it from nursery. I am sick of all the nursery germs! Grrrrrrrrrrr!!! He is going back on tomorrow, so I am worried that he will bring another disease home! It's hell!

To top it all off, I got food poisoning last Tuesday... Seriously? What is happening to me? For some reason, I was craving KFC and I asked my husband to get me a couple of chicken pieces and a small bottle of Tropicana. I expected to be a bit unwell after that, as my body can't cope with junk food at all, but I actually got up in the middle of the night, feeling extremely sick and ended up projectile vomiting! Yep... I thought I was going to end up in the hospital. It was absolutely awful! I felt horrible the next day too :/

On a happier note, I had  my obstetrician consultation and my dating scan and both went well. I will write about my VBAC plans in a separate post, but I will do anything to go ahead with it. I know I can do it if the baby isn't as big as Zachary was (9lbs 10oz), or very overdue. Let's hope for a small girl this time, that arrives on time, or earlier :)

The scan was my first NHS scan and it was a bit late. It was supposed to be done between 11-13 weeks, but I was 14 on the day of the scan (according to my private scan and my calculations). Apparently it is hard to date the pregnancy at that stage and it will be better if I go back at 16 weeks to confirm. I actually found the scan very uncomfortable, but I am guessing that it's because of my fat tummy and the baby not cooperating... Honestly, it was seriously painful and I was holding in tears. I hope it's better the next time. Despite the pain, it was lovely to see the baby move around and suck his/her thumb. Sooo cute! This pregnancy only feels real when I see the baby on the screen. Other than that, I still can't believe I am almost 4 months pregnant.

How far along? 15 weeks.

Size of the baby? Baby is the size of an apple.

Total weight gain: Still nothing, which is great, as with my BMI it is not recommended to gain weight till week 20. My diet is still the same, so I am not trying to maintain or lose weight on purpose. Just eating healthy and drinking plenty of water.

Maternity clothes? I need some maternity leggings and tights!

Stretch marks? No new ones yet, just old ones from my 1st pregnancy. My bump is growing nicely though and I actually look about 5-6 months pregnant in certain outfits, especially after dinner, haha :)

Sleep? As I was seriously ill again at the end of week 13 and beginning of week 14, I didn't get much sleep till I started feeling better.

Best moments this week: My 14 week scan and getting lots of sleep at the weekend :) Yay!

Miss anything? Sleeping comfortably on my tummy.

Movement? Same as last week, once every 3-4 days I can feel a little flutter and it is definitely the baby. I can't wait to feel him/her move properly!

Cravings? Banana 'ice-cream'. If you don't know how to make it, you simply freeze bananas and blend them in a powerful blender like Vitamix. You can add anything you want to it to change the flavour.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Still the same - fried red meat, yuck!

Gender? We are hoping to find out at the 20 weeks scan.

Labour signs? Nope.

Symptoms? I am super thirsty 24/7 and my boobs are really sore.

Belly button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off?  Off.

Happy or moody most of the time? Happy.

Looking forward to: My scan on the 9th of March :)
