With Valentine's Day being only 2 days away, I thought I will share some last minute ideas. Whether you need a good pamper, want to glam up a bit, or maybe treat someone (or yourself) to a delicious cake. I have all the aspects covered :)
Let's start with the most popular gift, that you simply can't go wrong with - chocolates. Perfect for anyone (unless you are allergic). The Hotel Chocolat Sleekster Valentines Selection*(£22.00) screams LOVE, with 27 heart shaped truffles in a selection of flavours. They were seriously yummy, but my faves were the Passion Fruit Truffle and Salted Almond Praline. Soo good! The box arrived in a gorgeous gift bag as well, which makes life easier if you are not good at gift wrapping :) You can still order the chocolates for guaranteed delivery on the 14th or pop into your local Hotel Chocolat to get a box (see locations here).
Matching red lips and nails are perfect for any occasion, but I really love wearing red on Valentine's Day. My other option is pink, but I am definitely going for red this year. The Joan Collins Nail Lacquer* and Lipstick* in Crystal are a perfect match and the formulas are a dream. The nail lacquer is easy to apply and dries quickly and the lipstick is very moisturising, super pigmented and also adds a gorgeous shine to the lips. Both products will be available soon from QVC and www.joancollinsbeauty.com
For rose addicts, I would recommend the Roger & Gallet Rose Imaginaire Eau Fraiche* (£30.50). It's not your usual rose scent though, as it is accompanied by tangerine, strawberry, jasmine, violet, sandalwood and patchouli. It is beautiful and I have been wearing it all week. I can't get enough. To make the gorgeous fragrance last longer, I have been applying the Roger & Gallet Rose Melt-In Body Lotion* (£15.00). The scent of the lotion is quite subtle, but they compliment each other beautifully. I love the texture of the Roger & Gallet fondants. They are light, absorb quickly and leave my skin super soft and nourished.
And if you need extra TLC in the body moisturising department (I always do!), you will fall in love with the Aromatherapy Associates Renewing Rose Body Velvet* (£50.00). I know, I know... the price is quite high, but the texture and the effects of this product are incredible. Ideal for those who love a bit of luxury, plus the rose inspired pink packaging makes it a perfect Valentine's Day treat. .
I saved the best bit till last :) The Patisserie Valerie custom cake*. OMG! I cannot describe how amazing it tastes. You simply go to their website and click on the Create A Cake tab, where you can pick different sponge types, fillings, side and top decorations and a satin ribbon. As you can see, the final result is amazing and I can safely say that I will be ordering one of the cakes again. Mine is the small 6 slice option, but we got over 10 slices out of it. I picked the vanilla sponge, Chantilly fresh cream, a strawberry filling, a side decoration of white chocolate cigarettes, strawberries on top and a red ribbon. Again - OMG! What an amazing cake. I still have some left for Valentine's Day, but I would demolish it right now, if I could :) haha. So, so good! I am sure you are familiar with Patisserie Valerie, as their window displays make me drool every time I walk past one of their cafes.
I apologise for making you hungry.
*goes to the fridge, eats the rest of the cake*
Whether you are in a relationship or single, I hope you enjoy Valentine's Day this weekend :)
