Makeup Revolution Radiant Lights

Keeping up with all new Makeup Revolution launches is almost impossible :) They bring out new products constantly, all of them at very affordable prices. I am a bit late to the party with Radiant Lights*, but they were named Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder dupes by many bloggers, so I had to compare them for you.

There are three colour options to choose from: Glow, Breathe and Exhale (£5.00 each). You can now get a full Radiance Palette with all three shades as well for only £8.00, which is even better! It is easy to spot that the powders and the palette were inspired by the Hourglass Ambient Lighting range, but I think that the Makeup Revolution offerings are too shimmery to use allover my face. With Hourglass, I can set my makeup and add a subtle highlight, without looking like I am wearing a highlight in the wrong places. This doesn't mean that I don't like Radiant Lights though. They have a nice, finely milled texture and sit nicely on the skin, adding a gorgeous glow to the tops of my cheekbones and cupids bow.

I like using the lightest (Exhale) and medium (Breathe) shades as a highlight the darkest shade (Glow) as a bronzer. You can see the comparison to the Hourglass powders below. The colours are very similar, but the Hourglass formula is more matte and it feels more silky and lightweight.

L-R: Hourglass Dim Light, Radiant Light in Breathe, Hourglass Incandescent Light, Radiant Light in Exhale, Hourglass Radiant Light, Radiant Light in Glow.

Overall, Radiant Lights are really nice as highlighters and I would definitely recommend them for that purpose, but I personally find them a bit too shimmery to use as finishing powders allover my face.
