MAC Cream Colour Base in Improper Copper

I am always trying new highlighters (it's an addiction) and the newest one in my extensive collection is the MAC Cream Colour Base in Improper Copper (£15.50). I wanted something really warm and almost bronze and I got exactly what I was looking for.

Improper Copper is my first MAC Cream Colour Base and I bought it to use specifically as a highlighter. It is a multi-purpose product though and it can be used as an eyeshadow base, cream eye shadow, illuminating primer, lip colour and anything else you want it to be. I apply it with my fingers, but it also works well with sponges and brushes.

Improper Copper is a stunning copper/bronze shade and it might look quite dark in the pan, but it blends out into the  most natural looking highlight with copper tones. I use it on the tops of my cheekbones, cupids bow and under the browbone and I am in love with the effect. It looks kind of wet, with no visible shimmer. It adds a glow and reflects light beautifully without looking like you used something on purpose. You can use it very sparingly for the most subtle effect, or build it up for a super intense highlight. I am in love!

I got this shade to wear on bronzed skin and it looks lovely. It might be too warm for pale skin tones though, but there are other colour options like Pearl and Luna. Let me know if you have fair skin and use Improper Copper.

I wasn't sure what to expect from my first MAC Cream Colour Base, but I couldn't be happier. It is simply stunning and worth every penny. I think I might buy Pearl and Hush next. I ordered mine from Debenhams with free delivery, thanks to my Debenhams Beauty Club Card.
