Crunchy Curry Crumb Chicken Goujons

Yum, yum, yum! Since I started eating chicken after being a veggie for a decade, I have been obsessed with it. I only eat it once a week though, because I strongly believe that we should eat meat in moderation. When I was kindly sent the The Great British Butcher All Natural Rubs And Crumbs Giftset* , I knew exactly what I will use it for - chicken, chicken and more chicken :) haha.

As an ex veggie, I always look out for my vegetarian friends, so please remember, that you can substitute the chicken for quorn fillets :) It's something I like to do to avoid eating too much meat. I promise you, that everything will taste finger lickin' good if you add any of the rubs and crumbs to it! The goujons are perfect for kids too!

To make 2 portions of goujons, you will need:

-2 chicken breasts (you can substitute with quorn)
-3-4 tablespoons of milk
-TGBB Crunchy Curry Crumb
-olive oil or frying spray

-cut your chicken into long strips- about 2cm thick
-put it in a bowl and add the milk, give it a little mix to make sure the chicken is nice and moist
-put some of the Crunchy Curry Crumb onto a plate (I used 1/4 of a tin for 2 breasts)
- coat each strip of chicken in the crumb evenly, by simply rolling it in the crumb.
-heat up your oil and fry the goujons until golden brown

You can also bake these in the oven for a low fat option - 30min at 200 degrees.

Serve for lunch with a salad, or with sweet potato mash and peas for dinner.

The goujons are absolutely delicious and they quickly became my favourite weekly treat! My husband is obsessed with chicken done in the Bloody Mary Rub*. I simply cut the chicken into 2cm cubes, marinate for 30 minutes with lots of the rub and some olive oil and fry it all in a pan until the chicken is completely cooked. Soooo yummy!

I also made Lemon & Mustard Goujons with the Lemon & Mustard Crumb and used the British BBQ rub for beef. Soooo good!

You can buy the set from  Not On The Highstreet, Harrods, Selfridges, Booths and on Ocado.
Not On The Highstreet currently have it on sale for £13.02! The tins are also available separately (£3.99 each, on sale for £2.79) We used up most of our rubs and crumbs, so I am ordering more PRONTO! I am addicted!

  1. This set looks so lovely - I bet it would be great for students as the ideas are so easy, yet it would stop them getting bored with the same flavours all the time! x
