Christmas Decorations Haul

I am not putting my Christmas tree up before the 1st of December, but I already have some decorations out and I bought some lovely bits and bobs to make my house look and feel very festive. I just love Christmas. You can find links to the items I bought online below.

I have always wanted a wooden advent calendar that I can customise with my own little presents. I finally got one and it was a bargain. I bought it on ebay (HERE) and it was only £24.99 with free delivery. It lights up as well and it arrived two days after I ordered it, so you can still get it before the 1st :) I am very happy with it and I can't wait to fill it with little treats for Zachary. I bought a selection of Lego figures - one for each day. Soooo exciting!

It's sooo beautiful with the lights on!

I also ordered an Elf On The Shelf to start a family tradition. I didn't mind paying £29.95, as I will use it every year for the rest of my life :) I love, love, love the idea! Basically, your family 'adopts' the Elf and gives him a name and his responsibility is to watch the children's behavior and report it to Santa each night. Every morning the children wake up and  look for the elf who returns from the North Pole :)

You can be as creative as you want with the placement of your Elf every morning. I will be instagramming it :) I can't wait. I will also leave a little note with a number next to the Elf every day, telling Zachary to check one of the drawers in the advent calendar for his little surprise. Oh, there is one rule - the children are not allowed to touch the Elf, because it will lose it's magical powers. We will see how it goes :) I am not sure how Zac will act about it, as he is still very young.

I already know how we will name the Elf. It's actually a hilarious story (to me anyway). Zachary keeps saying that his second name is Raisin (it's not, but it sounds similar). When you ask him about his name, he replies: Zachary Raisin :) Oh my... it makes me cry with laughter every time. When I correct him, he pulls a sad face and says - No mummy, it's not, my name is Zachary Raisin! That's why we are calling the Elf Raisin.

The Elf comes in a big box with a book that you read to the kids to explain how it all works. You also write down the Elf's name and the 'adoption' date inside :) If I have a little girl next, I will buy a girl elf for her.

 Our Elf - Raisin :)

I also picked up some cheap decor bits from BM Bargains. The gold reindeers were £2.99 for a pack of 2 and the huge Christmas bauble was £1.00.

I also found a cute snowman figure with a snow globe on it's head in a Charity shop for £1.99. Score! :) I adore snow globes and I want to have a massive collection of them one day.

What's your favourite place to shop for Christmas decor? Do you like the sound of the Elf On The Shelf tradition?
