June Favourites

Wow, it's 11th of July and I just got round to writing my June favourites post. Ooops... I blame the beautiful weather for my laziness :) I have loads of amazing products to share with you though, most of them perfect for Summer.

I am currently trying to get rid of scarring and tiny 'under the skin blemishes/bumps' , so my full routine consists of products with acids. In the mornings, I have been using the Super Facialist By Una Brennan Salicylic Acid Anti Blemish Purify & Refresh Face Scrub* (£8,99), which is perfect for combination and oily skin. My skin tends to go more oily during the Summer and this scrub helps to keep it under control and removes dead skin with tiny micro-beads. It is a little bit scratchy, but it leaves my skin very smooth and I absolutely love it.

I have also been loving the Super Facialist By Una Brennan Salicylic Acid Anti Blemish Pore Purifying Clay Mask* (£8,99),which I featured previously in one of my 'Weekend Pamper' posts. This mask contains Salicylic Acid and Dead Sea Mud,  magnesium, calcium, potassium and iron and it deeply cleanses pores. What I love about it the most is the fact that it works in just 5 minutes and it does exactly what it says on the box! On top of the purifying action, it also helps to keep oil at bay.  Super Facialist By Una Brennan products are available from Boots.

Another acid based product I have been obsessed with is the MERUMAYA Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel* (£19,50). Again, I featured it on the blog already, but I have to mention it again. It is the best exfoliating/brightening mask I have ever used. The formula integrates two technologies; glycolic peel and pomegranate enzymes 'to enhance the natural desquamation process by loosening and digesting the dead surface skin cells, to reveal re-texturised, brighter and more vibrant skin'.  It also tightens the pores, so you are left with amazing skin after each use. AMAZING!

To helps with the annoying little spots on my jawline and neck, I started using La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ (£15.50) again. I am not sure, why I haven't repurchased it earlier, because it really works. It helps to refine skins texture, fade scarring and reduce the size of any active blemishes and redness.

In the makeup department, it is all about a flawless base. To help me create it, I have been reaching for lots of Crownbrush products. I use the Crownbrush 10 Colour Concealer Palette* (£16.99) to contour and add coverage where I most need it and follow with the new Crownbrush Illuminating Liquid Foundation* (£17.99). It gives light/medium coverage and the most beautiful dewy finish. I already used up half of it, which shows how much I love it! It looks even more gorgeous, mixed with a little bit of the Illuminating Liquid Highlighter* (£17.99). If you are looking for a new dewy foundation, the new illuminating range by Crownbrush is perfect! Oh, and to buff everything in, I have been using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. It is my most used makeup brush and I can't live without it. I wish it was available separately!

On lazy days, when I don't need a flawless base, the Balance Me Colour BB Natural Perfection SPF 25* (£26.00) does the job perfectly. It gives enough coverage to make my complexion look more even and it feels very moisturising. It comes with SPF25 as well, which is something I look for in my base. The formula contains Abyssinian and rosehip oils, anti-oxidant rich, collagen and elastin-boosting blackberry leaf extract,  hyaluronic acid to help plump and bind in moisture, and spruce knot, lotus flower and violet seed extracts to calm redness. I wish it was a bit cheaper, but it is a skincare and makeup product in one, so you can use it instead of your moisturiser.

To set everything in place and add extra coverage, I have been using Antipodes Mineral Foundation* (£27.99). It can be used on it's own, but it works amazingly well as a setting powder. It gives me extra coverage and feels very lightweight. The yellow shade is perfect for my skin tone and the formula is packed with antioxidants and skin friendly minerals. I also loooove the new Antipodes Skin Brightening Finishing Powder* (£27.99), which is translucent and gives a matte finish. I have been using it on my t-zone to control oil and it is fab!

The only cheek product I have used for he past 2-3 weeks is the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Compact in Strip* (£22.00). The bronzer, blush and highlighter are ideal for medium and dark skin tones and I can't get enough of this trio! Read my full review here, with swatches and a makeup look.

My nail combo of choice for the month of June, has to be Angel & Upper Street 2 in 1 Colour Pop Art* (£14.00) by Nails Inc. I adore it! The pink is very summery and I have been wearing the glitter top coat on my ring finger for a little bit of sparkle. Gorgeous!

I have been spending a lot of time in the sun recently and Vichy Capital Soleil BB Cream SPF50* (£15.50) became my best sunbathing friend. I use it when I know that I will be exposed to the sun for a longer period of time and it is exactly what I need to protect my face at the moment. It contains SPF50, it is water resistant and the tinted formula gives a bit of coverage as well, so I don't have to worry about any redness or scarring looking too obvious. It's lightweight and not too greasy, but make sure not to get it in your eyes - it will make them water all day :'(

After a quick sunbathing session in the garden, I have been indulging in the Vichy Capital Soleil After Sun SOS Balm* (£11.50). Oh my... My skin loves it sooo much. It feels very soothing. hydrating and it is suitable for sensitive skin as well, so I will be taking it on holiday for my husband - he burns easily, unlike me.

I tested this affordable tan recently and I am really impressed. Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan Mousse* (£7.99) works in just 1 hour and it provides a gorgeous, non-streaky colour that lasts for 5-7 days, without going patchy! It smells lovely too and it is very easy to apply. To top up my tan and keep my skin soft and nourished, I have been using the Vichy Capital Soleil Self Tanner* (£14.00). It feels very hydrating and it gives a natural looking colour. Another product I will be taking with me on holiday.

My hair duo of choice for June consists of the Concoction Nourish + Protect ShampYou with Black Pepper and Citrus* (£14.00) and Concoction Ultra Moisturising Conditioner Cashmere + White Lily* (£16.00). The shampoo came with two little shots of  SuperSerum as well -a concentrated blend of nutritive vitamins, minerals and special active ingredients. You can create your own personal blend, depending on your hair type and hair colour. I wish the formula was SLS free, but I really enjoyed using it and my hair looooved it. The conditioner should work with all hair types, but it is best suited for dry/damaged hair in my opinion. It is very hydrating and leaves my hair soft and nourished. I adore the scent as well. Available from www.concoction.co.uk

This little baby is my hair styling hero and I have been repurchasing it for the past 7 years!!! It  is the Osis Dust It Powder (£9.80). Yes, it leaves me hair feeling a bit weird and I have to work it into my dark hair carefully to make sure I don't end up with white patches, but... it adds the most amazing volume to my roots! It's my Holy Grail volumising product and I use it all the time.

Random favourite, but I had to mention it. I recently disinfected my full makeup collection and it is all thanks to The Pro Hygiene Collection Antibacterial Makeup Spray (£10.00). It is an antibacterial makeup spray that kills 99.99% of germs within 60 seconds of application. Once used, it inhibits regrowth of bacteria on the surface of makeup products between uses. You can read my full review here

My two most used fragrances in June were (and still are actually) Gucci Guilty Intense EDP 50ml* (£44.99) Jimmy Choo EDP 60ml* (£29.99) . Guilty Intense features notes of mandarin, pink pepper, lilac, violet, heliotrope, patchouli and amber, but to me it just smells like pure lilacs. It is gorgeous!  Jimmy Choo is a combination of Pear Nectar, Sweet Italian Orange, Tiger Orchid, Indonesian Patchouli and Toffee Caramel and it is an explosion of floral and fruity notes with a warm woody base. Beautiful!
