I ♥ MAKEUP

If you are a makeup addict, you might be interested in the new releases from Makeup Revolution. They launched a new sister brand called I ♥ Makeup last week and I got a chance to try a selection of the new products.

I ♥ MAKEUP  Lip Geek Dream About Success* (£2.99)

The packaging of this lipstick reminds me of MAC, but it is slightly more bulky and made with cheaper/lighter plastic. The shade itself is a pretty peachy coral, but it accentuates dry patches, so make sure to prep your lips with a scrub and lip balm before applying this colour. I find most peachy lipsticks a bit drying for some reason and this one reminds me of MUA Juicy and Look Beauty Tangerine Cream. Other shades (especially darker ones) should be much easier to work with.

I ♥ MAKEUP WOW Gloss in I Woke Up Like This* (£2.49)

The packaging of the gloss isn't my cup of tea to be honest and it feels too bulky, but the nude colour is stunning! The formula is non sticky and applies beautifully and I have been wearing this shade every day since I got it.

I ♥ Makeup Blushing Hearts-Summer of Love Bronzer* (£4.99)

The new heart shaped triple baked blushers/bronzers/highlighters are seriously 'inspired' by Too Faced, but let's just ignore it and focus on the quality. The cardboard feels a bit cheap and the formula isn't as pigmented as I would like it to be. Unfortunately, the colour of this bronzer doesn't really show up on my skin tone. It works as a very subtle highlighter though.

I ♥ Makeup Slogan Palette Makeup Geek* (£7.99)

This palette is probably the best value for money from the bunch. It features 36 stunning shades, including mostly shimmery ones and a couple of mattes. They are all amazingly pigmented and apply with minimal fallout. I haven't tried all the colours on my lids, but I created a look with the neutral ones and it lasted for 8 hours without a primer, before it started fading. The packaging is quite cool  and the design changes when you move the palette (as you can see on the photo above).

I ♥ Makeup Slogan Palette Makeup Geek Swatches.

Overall, I thing that the packaging of this range is more appealing to teenagers than someone my age (27), but... the quality of most products is quite good for the price and somehow I am drawn to the heart shaped blushers and highlighters, chocolate bar inspired palettes and bright pink lipstick bullets. They would make nice gifts for younger girls.
