Brand Spotlight: Crownbrush (Makeup)

You might remember my Brand Spotlight post about Crownbrush (here), featuring some of their brushes and their amazing brush cleaner. I still love them and use them very often, but today I want to focus on Crownbrush makeup. Yes, they do makeup and... they actually have quite a wide selection of palettes. They are also releasing new liquid foundations very soon and I had a chance to try them before the official launch.

The liquid highlighter is an opalescent pink shade, with no visible shimmer, but somehow it manages to add the most beautiful glow to my skin. I am slightly obsessed with it. The formula is light and hydrating and you can use it in three different ways:
-as an illuminating base
-mixed with foundation to make it look more dewy
-as a highlighter on tops of your cheekbones etc

I love how hydrating this formula feels on the skin and the satin finish is just gorgeous! It looks natural, gives light to medium coverage and NEVER looks cakey. It is incredible and I am pleasantly surprised with it. I didn't expect Crownbrush to bring out such a fab base! It sits on the skin beautifully, it is easy to blend and it is extremely lightweight. You can see how natural it looks on my face on the photo below. (I am using shade FK115 and it is a good match for my skin tone in Summer, but it would be slightly too dark in winter).

Wearing the foundation mixed with the liquid highlighter. I also used a custom concealer colour (shades 2 and 3 from the bottom row) to cover any blemishes and the darkest concealer shade to warm up my skintone, where I would normally wear bronzer. As you can see, the finish is very natural and it doesn't even look like I have any concealer on!
This gem is a real must have in a makeup addict's collection. I have been dying to try it, so I couldn't wait to share my thoughts with you. I usually struggle with getting the right shade of concealer, but with this palette I can choose between many colours and I can also custom blend, if I am in between shades. My current perfect colour is a mixture of shades 2 and 3 from the bottom row. There are super dark browns included as well, making the palette ideal for contouring light and medium skin tones.

The formula is creamy, lightweight and it blends beautifully with fingers and brushes. I was worried that it might look cakey after a while, but nope - it looks amazing and lasts on the skin all day, if I set it with a powder.  Oh, and the coverage is fantastic as well, buildable from medium to full!

PS. If you are not sure how to contour with cream products, watch THIS VIDEO, where Crownbrush UK Head of Make-up Artistry Zoe explains and demonstrates it perfectly.

Have you tried Crownbrush makeup or brushes? Are you excited for the launch of their foundations? The palette is available from www.crownbrush.co.uk and the foundations will be launching very soon.

PS. If you are going to IMATS London this year (27-29 June), make sure to check out the Crownbrush stand to get some of their fab products cheaper. I am not sure what kind of discount it will be, but all brands offer lower prices at the event.
