Brand Spotlight: Claudia Louch Natural Skin Clinic

When it comes to skincare, I try to stick to the brands I know or ones recommended to me by other bloggers. I was very intrigued by the Claudia Louch Natural Skin Clinic range though and the packaging made me want to try it even more. Just look at it - it is stunning! Sleek black containers with a touch of silver and very functional pumps. I had a chance to try the Hydrating Mango Face Cream and Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover and I am seriously impressed.

First of all, who is Claudia Louch? She is an internationally-renowned natural holistic skin specialist, nutritionist, pharmacologist and health scientist operating from her Claudia Louch Natural Skin Clinic in Harley Street, London, which she founded in 2005. You can read more about her approach to skincare and her London clinic HERE.

Claudia believes in simple skincare and cosmetics, leaving out harsh and unnecessary nasties. The formulas are suitable for even the most sensitive skin. All products are hypoallergenic, allergy-tested, non-comedogenic, free from parabens, methylisothiazolinone and SLS, making them perfect for all skin types.

The oil free makeup remover is fragrance free, very gentle, non-irritating and suitable for very sensitive eyes. It doesn't leave a residue and it feels very soothing and nourishing, thanks to cucumber fruit extract and chamomile flower extract.  It is a luxury product, so I prefer using it after a quick precleanse with a cleansing balm. This way I can get rid of most makeup and follow with this non greasy formula to leave the delicate eye area clean and fresh.  I use the remover on cotton wool pads, gently press them onto my eyelids for 30 seconds and wipe over the eye area to remove any dirt and the rest of my eye makeup, making sure to be as gentle as possible. You don't want to rub the delicate skin around your eyes.

The Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover is pretty expensive, but I love using it, especially when my eyes feel irritated and tired. I have been using it as a soothing treatment as well and I simply soak two cotton wool pads in the liquid, put them on my eyelids and leave on for 15 minutes.

The hydrating mango face cream appeared on my blog in my April Favourites and I can't recommend it enough. It tackles many skin problems and it is best suited for normal to dry skin, but it really appealed to me, because it is non-comedogenic, so it won't cause breakouts by blocking pores. My skin is normal/combination with dryness on my cheeks and an oily t-zone and this light formula helped to combat dry areas and balance the rest of my face, while working wonders at plumping and smoothing the skin. The ingredients include:

 - Hydrating  mango butter - very effective at treating dryness, itchiness, skin damage, lines and wrinkles
- Hyaluronic acid - to boost moisture and plump the skin
- A natural blend of five hydrating oils - olive, almond, avocado, sunflower and grape seed
 - Shea butter - to increase skin elasticity and ease dryness
- Antioxidant vitamin E  - to protect and repair
- Aloe vera gel - to soothe, reduce redness and irritation

The formula feels velvety soft and sinks into the skin quickly, without leaving a  residue, but it is very hydrating at the same time and leaves my skin feeling soft, nourished and plump. It is a gorgeous product and I absolutely love it, but I wish it was a bit cheaper.

Overall, I am very impressed with Claudia Louch Natural Skin Clinic products and I am in love with the sleek, elegant packaging. You can buy the Oil Free Makeup Remover and Hydrating Mango Face Cream from www.claudialouch.com.  The makeup range sounds very promising as well, featuring various foundations, powders and mascara.
