I love fish and I try my best to include it in my diet 2 times a week, if possible. Sometimes I won't eat it for weeks though, because I forgot to buy it or I have other things to use up etc. It just depends on my meal plan and cravings. If I am craving fish, I will have weeks when I eat roasted and smoked salmon every single day. It's usually 'ready to eat' salmon in little vacuum sealed packs, like The Saucy Fish Co. They are very convenient, healthy and absolutely delicious!
I was kindly sent a selection of The Saucy Fish Co products to try out, but I was already familiar with the range because I buy the 'ready to eat' salmon fillets and the fresh ones quite often. Each pack of the salmon comes with a sauce sachet as well, which is great for those who have no idea how to flavour their fish. I was also sent the new Cod and Sea Bream. If you follow my food instagram account, you might have seen these in my meals, but here are some meal ideas and more details about each product.
Sweet Chilli Salmon With Tomato & Chilli Chutney* £4.50
This flavour combination is my favourite from the range. It is absolutely delicious and the chutney compliments the juicy salmon perfectly. I like having it with a salad or roasted veg. So yummy!
The Saucy Fish Co Chilli, Lime & Ginger Salmon* (£4.50)
I love fresh salmon fillets and I always bake them in the oven with a sprinkle of Himalayan Salt. Simple, yummy and healthy! You can serve it with anything, but I had it with broccoli and tomato mac'n'cheese and without the dressing. I would normally use the dressing in a Chinese style dish, like a stir-fry. I have tried it in the past and it was very tasty! You can freeze the fresh fillets, if you wish. I have one pack in the freezer at the moment. Oh, and this particular option also comes in a single fillet pack.
Other variations: SALMON WITH ROCKET AND CRÈME FRAICHE, SALMON WITH SUNBLUSH TOMATO
Salmon With Lime & Coriander Dressing* £4.50
This option is just steamed and unflavoured, so you can serve it with anything you like or use the dressing provided. I used one of the fillets in my husbands wrap with lots of salad and tzatziki and had mine with green beans, sweetcorn and the lime & coriander dressing. It was delicious and the fillets were cooked to perfection!
Lemon & Herb Salmon With Sicilian Lemon & Dill Mayo* (£4.50)
This combination tastes amazing served with salads! Just like the sweet chilli fillets, these are very juicy and simply melt in your mouth. I used one of the fillets as a side and one as a salad topping with the Lemon Dill Mayo. This particular flavour goes really well with cucumber, tomatoes and eggs. Soooo good!
Cod With Sunblush Tomato* (£2.99)
This product is a new addition to range and it is available at Waitrose. I love cod, so I was expecting it to taste amazing and I wasn't disappointed. I baked it in the oven with Himalayan Salt and served it with couscous, asparagus and the Sunblush Tomato sauce. It was divine!
Sea Bream With Orange & Fennel Dressing* (£2.99 at Waitrose)
Believe it or not, I have never had sea bream before! Probably because I was a vegetarian for a really long time. I love all kinds of fish though, so I knew I will like it. I managed to cook it to perfection and it melted in my mouth. I pan fried it in a very light batter (milk, almond flour & seasoning). I served it with my low calorie tagliatelle with pesto and some baby red peppers. The Orange & Fennel Dressing added even more flavour. Yum!
Other variations : TILAPIA WITH MANGO AND CHILLI, SEA BASS WITH BEURRE BLANC, SEASONED TUNA WITH SWEET SOY AND CHILLI, SMOKED COD WITH CHEESY RAREBIT SAUCE
As a big fan of Saucy Fish Co, I can't recommend their products enough, especially for those who like fuss free cooking/dining and want to include more fish in their diet. The 'ready to eat' salmon fillets are perfect with salads or as a quick meal option and the new cod and sea bream are divine too and ideal, if you are in a hurry and don't like to prep fish.
The new additions are available from Waitrose, but you can buy most Saucy Fish Co products from Tesco, Co-Op, Sainsbury's and Morrisons as well.
