Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks

I am a big fan of matte lips and I absolutely adore Bourjois as a brand, so their new Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks* got me super excited for Spring! I expected them to be quite similar to the Rimmel Apocalips, but they are MUCH better and I am blown away by their silky, velvety formula, vibrant colours and incredible lasting power.

The packaging is simple and chic and you can choose from eight shades in total, including reds, pinks and even a gorgeous nude! The formula is a dream to apply and you can actually play around with the colour before it dries down to a matte finish. I also like the fact that you can apply the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks very lightly for a stain-like effect or opaque for a bold lip.

I am not sure about the '24 hour wear' claim, but once dry, they stay put for 6+ hours, including eating and drinking.  Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks feel lightweight, very hydrating and don't accentuate dry patches at all. Absolutely perfect! My lips are quite dry at the moment and as you can see on the photos below, you can't even tell :)

The three shades I received are:

03 Hot Pepper- orange toned bright red
04 Peach Club -  peachy coral
06 Pink Pong - bright fuchsia with blue undertones

04 Peach Club, 06 Pink Pong, 03 Hot Pepper
04 Peach Club, 06 Pink Pong, 03 Hot Pepper (they look more matte, once completely dry)

Overall, I am really impressed with the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks and I can't recommend them enough. The formula is fantastic and the shades are stunning!

Available from Boots and Superdrug for £8.99 each.
