Real Techniques Retractable Brushes & Silicone Liner Brush

I am always on the lookout for travel brushes, but most of them aren't retractable, which makes them hard to keep clean and store. That's why I couldn't wait for the release of new Real Techniques Retractable brushes and as usual, I am really impressed with the quality. They are well made, pretty and affordable.

The retractable range consists of a Kabuki Brush, a Bronzer Brush and a Lip Brush and the bristles are synthetic and cruelty free. Another new release for 2014 is the Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush.

This beaut is my favourite brush from the range and if you can't afford all three of the retractable brushes, this is the one to buy. It is dense, soft and slightly angled and can be used for powders, bronzers, blushers and highlighters. I also tried it with mineral foundation and it gives a gorgeous, flawless finish.

This brush was designed especially for applying bronzer, but you can also use it with powder foundations and loose powders. It is a duo-fiber brush, featuring two types of bristles. The longer white bristles pick up the bronzer/powder and the shorter black ones help to blend the product into the skin, giving a natural looking finish.

I don't use lip brushes too often, but there is nothing more annoying than a dirty lip brush in your makeup bag - it always makes a big mess! This little brush is perfect for using on the go and its firm, tapered tip provides precise and smooth application of lip colour. If you are a lipstick addict, you will get a lot of use out of this brush and I highly recommend picking it up.

This brush is the answer to my gel liner problems. I don't like applying them with normal brushes and the silicone tip is exactly what I was looking for to help me create a perfect flick. Well made, affordable and easy to clean.

Overall, all the new releases from Real Techniques are fantastic and I am glad I can now keep good quality brushes in my makeup bag, protected with plastic lids. Perfect for travelling and ideal for those who don't like the idea of their tools collecting dust on the dressing table. You can find quick demo videos for all the brushes on the Real Techniques Youtube channel. The one above shows the retractable kabuki brush in action and the retractable mechanism.

The retractable brushes and silicone liner brush are available from Real Techniques stockists, including www.beautychamber.co.uk
