October Favourites

My October favourites are a week late this time, but I couldn't wait to share my most loved skincare and makeup products :) I also decided to include some random favourites this month at the end of the post :) As usual, I have a lot to share, so let's get started.

First of all, my top makeup pick this month - the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light (£38.00). Let's just say, that it totally changed my relationship with powders and it transformed the appearance of my skin (with makeup on). You have to try it to fully understand it, or see it on someone else in real life. It adds the most beautiful, subtle glow to the skin and I just love it! Luminous light is a perfect allover colour, but you can build it up to a subtle highlight on tops of our cheekbones, nose etc. It is incredible and I cannot wait to get the Hourglass palette with three more shades!

I have been using the Bourjois Twist Up The Volume Mascara*(£10.99) for the past couple of weeks and I really like the way it looks on my lashes. It doesn't leave any clumps and the two-way brush is perfect for adding length, volume and definition. Overall, I like the formula and the brush is a very cool idea- you simply twist it to change the shape (see photos above).

My new favourite concealer is the Bourjois Happy Light Ultra-Covering Concealer*. It is amazing! It covers dark circles and imperfections really well and it's a good match for my skin tone. You can read my full review here.

I am loving my MAC palette and I cannot wait to get more shades for my  little collection. I have been reaching for all the colours a lot and I am very impressed with the formula. The eye shadows I got so far are: All That Glitters, Amber Lights, Nylon, Sumptuous Olive, Club, Antiqued and Cranberry. You can see the swatches and makeup looks here, here and here. I would definitely recommend building your own 15 pan MAC palette - after all, you will be the one who picks all the colours, so you should get a lot of use out of them :)

In October, I rediscovered my love for the Borujois Rouge Edition Lipsticks*. I never stopped using (or loving) them, but I started to reach for them more often again.  They are creamy, nicely pigmented and very moisturising - perfect for dry lips and cold weather. My favourtie colours are 04 Rose Tweed and (second from the left) and 07 Fuchsia Graffiti (third from the left). They are simply beautiful and I always get compliments when I wear them. I reviewed and swatched 10 colours from the range: here and here.

My favourite lip balm, previously mentioned in many posts... is the Nuxe Reve De Miel (£9.50). It soothes dry lips like no other product and smells like Terry's Chocolate Orange. What else could you ask for? :) It is an A/W must have!

In the hair care department, I have been really enjoying the Pureology Pure Volume Shampoo* (£10.99)  & Pure Volume Condtioner* (£13.99).  I was kindly sent these from www.hairtrade.com, who stock a wide selection of Pureology products. I went for the volumizing option and I am very impressed. After using this duo, my hair is always big, bouncy and has a gorgeous healthy shine. The formula of the shampoo is sulfate free, but it lathers up really well works well with my hair type. The conditioner smells incredible and leaves my hair feeling soft, smooth and nourished, without weighing it down. I am guessing that the duo is perfect for coloured hair, but I have been loving the volumizing properties :)

When I first opened this body butter, I couldn't get over it's amazing citrusy scent. It smells good enough to eat and actually looks very appetising :) haha. Conscious Skincare is a brand new to me, but I love their ethics. Their cruelty free products are made with high quality organic ingredients and the packaging is made with recyclable materials. The Sweet Orange and Frangipani Body Butter* (£18.99) is a real treat and melts in contact with the skin, transforming from a whipped mousse into an aromatic oil,  leaving my skin super soft! It takes a while to sink in, but I adore it!

As a big fan of Organic Surge, I was very excited to try their First Class Face Mask* (£8.49) and I am not disappointed. It is designed to deep-cleanse, nourish and give your skin an instant boost. It features soothing chamomile and marshmallow, rosemary & orange essential oils and plant extracts and it is suitable for all skin types. The consistency is thick and creamy and you simply leave the mask on for 5 minutes and rinse off, revealing smoother, brighter complexion. It can also be used as an intensive overnight treatment. I really like using it during the week, when I don't have time for a proper pamper evening. It only takes 5 minutes but my skin is very grateful for it :) It is perfect for those who want to deep cleanse, nourish and brighten the skin in one simple step. Retailing at £8.40 it is an absolute bargain!

As you can see, I am really loving the Caudalie Beauty Elixir :) I use it all the time and repurchase it very often. I recently got the limited edition bottle as well, because I simply couldn't resist it. My skin loves it, it adds a nice glow to it and feels soothing and refreshing. It is also amazing for refreshing my makeup during the day.

My favourite cleanser this month has been the Antipodes Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser* (£24.99). I adore Antipodes products and I have never been disappointed with any of the things I have tried. Grace Cleanser smells incredible and feels very soothing. I use it as a second cleanse ant night and my skin loves it! It is perfect for dry, dehydrated and irritated skin and it will help to sooth any redness or dry patches. It also removes makeup, but I prefer using something cheaper first, because this beautiful cleanser should be used as a treat and massaged into the skin properly, not wiped away with makeup :)

On any angry blemishes, I have been using these liquid filled cotton buds. They are called Blemish Blitz and I got them from feelunique for £3.99. I wanted something very hygienic and they seemed like the best option. You simply snap the tip of the cotton bud and a liquid is released to the other end. Magic! You use it directly on the blemish(es) and discard the cotton bud. Clever idea, especially if you travel a lot and want something hassle free. Does it work? Yes, it does! It dries blemished overnight and reduces redness. I will be repurchasing them for sure!

My favourite scents at the moment are rose and blackcurrant, so my fragrance favourites are very predictable this month. I have been loving the Atkinsons Fashion Decree* and I think that those who like rose perfumes, should give it a sniff in Harrods :) I got a small sample of it in the post and I am hooked. It features notes of Rose, Patchouli, Magnolia and Pink Peppercorn, creating a strong powdery, floral scent. Not for everyone, but I like it :)

My new favourite candle is Diptyque BAIES (£20.00). I bought the mini version, but I am dying to get my mitts on the big one. It smells incredible and it is a mixture of rose and blackcurrant leaves. It couldn't be more perfect. I am officially addicted and I can see catastrophic consequences for my bank account in the future. If you came across cheaper blackcurrant leaf and rose scented candles, please let me know :)

The last two favourites are super yummy. When the weather gets a bit chilly, I start drinking Chai Latte and add Pumpkin Pie Spice to everything.... haha :) I have a cup of the Spiced Chai Latte every morning, with added almond milk and it is simply amazing! You can buy it in all supermarkets or online here. Yuuum!

The Pumpkin Pie Spice is a blend I add to my pancakes, mug cakes, lattes and other sweet (clean and guilt free) treats. I got mine on amazon, because it is really hard to get anywhere else. You need the tiniest amount of it for a strong flavour, so the small jar will last you for about 2 years :) The one I got is sold out, but you can get a similar one here.

What have you been loving in October? Have you tried any of the products I mentioned in this post?
