ELF HAUL (with reviews)

I am pretty sure most of you placed a cheeky little ELF order, with their 50% discount code, to celebrate reaching 20 000 twitter followers. I couldn't resist getting a couple of bits and bobs half price :) I decided to order three of the powder blusher duos, a cream blush duo, a highlighter/blusher and a concealer. I am not entirely happy with all my purchases, but with the 50% discount, they were worth a try.

Contouring Blush & Bronzing Duo - £3.75 (Turks & Caicos, St Lucia, Antigua)

Let's start with the disappointing products. I am not sure why I ordered all of these, but hey... at least I can swatch them all for you. The blusher shades in all duos aren't that bad, but the bronzers made me look dirty and didn't blend well at all. The were very powdery and too dark/muddy. They might work for other people, but on my skin tone, they look terrible. No healthy and natural glow for me, just a dirty looking face :) haha. I am afraid that St Lucia is far from being a NARS Orgasm/Laguna Duo dupe.

ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzing Cream - St Lucia - £3.75

This duo on the other hand - fabulous! The formula is very creamy and super pigmented and it is best applied with your fingers. I like using the bronzer shade under my foundation - it is a great alternative to a MAC Sculpting Cream for light-medium skin tones. The blush is a gorgeous peachy shade and adds a nice glow to my cheeks. I like to set the blush with a translucent powder to make it last longer, or add a similar shimmery colour on top for a more intense, illuminating effect. I got his duo half price, but I think it is worth much more than £3.75!

ELF Blush/Highlighter Gotta Glow - £3.75

I am not in love with the powdery consistency of this highlighter, but the actual colour is gorgeous. It is a very light beige shade (nearly white) with gold shimmer. It looks slightly glittery, but it won't turn you into a disco ball. You can see how beautiful it looks with flash - stunning gold sparkle! It blends into the skin really nicely and lasts for around 6 hours.  If you are pale, but want a golden highlighter- this is perfect! it also looks nice on tanned skin. Apparently it is a dupe for the NARS Albatros Highlighter. Bargain!

ELF Maximum Coverage Concealer - Oil Free - Sand - £3.75

The last product I ordered is the Maximum Coverage Concealer in shade Sand. I need something to cover hormonal breakouts and scars on my jaw line and neck and I must admit - I am  pleasantly surprised with this concealer. It totally covers all blemishes and imperfections and lasts for around 8h. The oil free formula is a bit drying, but if you have normal or oily skin, you will probably like it even more than I do. For those with dry skin - if you want to avoid accentuating dry and flaky skin, make sure to exfoliate really well and apply a good moisturiser. I adore using Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream on any dry areas- it is amazing!

Make sure to keep your eyes peeled, if you want to take advantage of the next 50% off offer. I noticed a tweet mentioning it and it will be happening once @beautycrowd reaches 5K followers (they are at a 500 mark at the moment)

Have you ordered anything from ELF during their fab offer?
