Feelunique treats - YSL Touche Eclat and Guerlain Lipstick (reviewed)

Since I had a feelunique voucher burning a whole in my virtual pocket, I thought I should treat myself to some high end makeup scribbled on my 'never ending wishlist'. I recently fell in love with Guerlain products, but haven't tried their lipsticks yet, so KissKiss Strass went straight into my basket. I have also been lusting after the iconic YSL Touche Eclat and I knew that the collector edition won't be around for much longer, so it ended up in my basket too :)

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat (Collector Edition) - shade 1 - £25.00

Unfortunately, the limited edition design isn't available anymore, so I definitely picked the right time to buy it. It has been in my basket for months, but I kept buying other stuff instead. It is finally mine and it is gorgeous!  The luxurious packaging is inspired by an iconic YSL design of a crystal beaded  evening gown from 1960's and features crystal-like engraving. BEAUTIFUL! The regular range offers 10 different shades, but the limited edition one was only available in the original shade (01). I am aware that it is not a concealer, but I am totally fine with that. I wanted to test the illuminating effects of this product.

The formula is very light and blends into the skin easily. Shade 01 is pink toned, but it works surprisingly well with my skin tone. I am guessing that it makes me look less yellow :) I apply it onto the tops of my cheekbones, centre of my nose, cupids bow, in the inner corners of my eyes and dot it under my eyes as well (lower than I would apply my concealer). It adds a nice illuminating effect and reflects light beautifully. There is no visible shimmer in it, just light reflecting particles to help you look more radiant and create an illusion of brighter, glowing, younger skin. That's exactly what it does! If you are looking for a concealer designed for covering your dark circles, this won't work, because it is NOT a concealer. That's why I wonder why it won best under eye concealer awards and is still being called a concealer pen?

Anyway... I totally get the hype around this product. I love the way it makes my skin look and I will repurchase it in the future. I might get a yellow toned shade though.  £25 is definitely a lot for a highlighting pen, but... it is worth it in my opinion!

Guerlain KissKiss Strass in shade 340 - Beige Mousseline £24.00

This lipstick ended up on my wish list after I realised that I definitely didn't own anything similar. I have plenty of pink shades, reds and nudes, but nothing sparkly and quite neutral. I also like the look of Guerlain KissKiss packaging, which made me want this lipstick even more. I was convinced that the packaging is gold (it looks gold on all the promotional images), but it is actually silver with a slight gold tinge to it. It is still lovely though.

Now let's talk about the shimmer. I am not normally a fan of shimmer on my lips, but... this lipstick is different. It contains tiny gold toned crystal particles to  reflect light and it makes my lips look fuller and super juicy! Shade Beige Mousseline is a peachy toned nude colour, quite sheer, but buildable. It really suits my skin tone and looks very natural. Despite all the gold shimmer, it feels very comfortable and hydrating on the lips, leaving them soft and plump after each application. I was worried that I might feel the shimmer in it, but nope- the texture is smooth and lovely! The colour reminds me of the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Rosewood Shimmer, but with added gold sparkles! My husband loves the colour on me too, which is always a bonus :)

I am glad I went out of my comfort zone, because I am in love with this shade and I have been wearing it nearly every day. It looks gorgeous paired with any makeup look, but I love using it when I am wearing a bronzed smokey eye and a golden highlighter.
