September Favourites

There are many products I have been loving this month, but I managed to narrow it down to a nice little selection :) As per usual, it is a mixture of makeup, nail, body and skincare products, featuring some new additions and things I rediscovered after a long break. Let's get started.

La Roche Posay Pigment Control Concentrated Conditioning Serum* (£27.69) via www.chemistdirect.co.uk

I have a lot of scarring and discolouration on my cheeks, jawline and neck and I have been looking for something to deal with this problem. After reading rave reviews of the La Roche Posay Pigment Control Serum, I decided to give it a go. I wasn't expecting miracles, but I had high expectations. Did the serum work? YES, it worked wonders and reduced my scarring and discolouration by 50% in the first two weeks. I am amazed with the results. I gave the serum over 5 weeks before sharing my thoughts, but the most dramatic change is visible after 2 weeks of everyday use.

The formula contains Kojic Acid to correct pigmentation, Glycolic Acid to exfoliate and even out skin tone and LHA to smooth skins surface.  Because of the highly concentrated acid content, I stopped using my Clarins Exfoliating Toner at night and swapped it for this serum. I was using the REN Clarifying Lotion in the morning though.  The serum is light and absorbed by the skin very quickly, so you can follow with your moisturiser after a minute or two. If you have any fresh spots, you will feel a slight tingling/burning sensation on those areas, but there was no irritation or redness on the rest of my face. I tried to avoid using the serum on fresh breakouts, because it works much better on the healed areas with fresh scarring.

If you have any discolouration or scarring on your face, I would definitely recommend the La Roche Posay Pigment Control Serum. After 5 weeks of everyday use, all marks on my face became about 70% less visible and are now easy to cover with light foundations. As an added bonus, the serum exfoliates dead skin cells and adds radiance to my face. It also helps to reduce skin's sensitivity, with its thermal Dermobiotic extract.

Vera Wang Be Jeweled EDD* (30 ml, £28.99)

I added this fragrance to my wishlist a while ago and I was lucky to be offered a bottle by the lovely  www.fragrancedirect.co.uk team. I have been using Be Jeweled  throughout September, before switching to more musky Autumn/Winter scents. It is very fresh, young and girly, with notes of Blackcurrant, Pomegranate, Passion Fruit, Pink Honeysuckle, Pink Peony and Champagne. It would make a great gift for those who like a mixture of fruity and floral scents. I love it!

Clarins Extra Comfort Foundation* (£35.00) & Instant Concealer* (£20.00)

I reviewed the Extra Comfort Foundation and Instant Concealer yesterday, but I had to include them in my September favourites. The foundation is incredible and perfect for colder months, especially for those with dry/normal skin. To read my full reviews, click on the links above.

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Cream Blush in shade Honey* £5.50

My favourite blusher in September was (and still is) the Elizabeth Arden Cream Blush in Honey. It is a lovely oil free formula, very soft, creamy and nicely pigmented. I blend it with my fingers and the final effect looks very natural. It adds a healthy glow to my face, without feeling sticky or heavy and lasts on my cheeks for over 8 hours. Shade Honey is a dark nude colour with peachy undertones and it looks lovely on all skin tones. The formula is enriched with vitamins A, C and E to add glow and nourish the skin. If you are a fan of true cream formulas, you will love this blusher. The original price is £24.00, but you can get it for £5.50 from Fragrance Direct!!!

Guerlain Meteorites Pearls 03 Teint Dore £35.50

I am loving illuminating powders at the moment and the Guerlain Meteorites are my most luxurious option. I love the finish I can achieve with the pearls and I think that they are worth every penny. Meteorites help to even out skin tone, add a nice glow and reduce shine on my t-zone. They create a soft focus effect, feel light on the skin and smell amazing- like parma violets. The packaging is to die for as well and I adore it!  If you are looking for a more budget friendly illuminating powder, I can highly recommend the amazing Bourjois Java Rice Powder. It is a lovely product as well.

In the nail care and nail polish department, I have been loving the L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream, Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle Nail Polish and the plastic Nail Polish Remover Dispenser with a pump.

The L'occitane hand cream is my HG product and I love everything about it. It leaves my hands super soft and nourished and smells incredible. I stocked up on the small size, when it came as a magazine freebie :) The Razzle Dazzle nail polish by Deborah Lippmann is a beautiful burgundy shade, perfect for Autumn! It is a glitter polish, so I have been using it with the Innisfree Peel Off Base Coat.

The last product I have been loving is the super cheap plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. For someone who spills nail polish remover allover the carpet and sofa, it is a must have. It dispenses the liquid onto a cotton wool pad and you always get the desired amount out, without wasting product and making a mess. You can buy it here for 99p.

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift And Sculpt Firming Eye Serum (£30.00 ?)

I am afraid that this product has been discontinued because I can't find it anywhere. I got it for Christmas in a QVC Emma Hardie set and I just finished the bottle. It is a lovely, silky formula, very soothing and super hydrating. It leaves the delicate skin around my eyes soft and firm and it is a real pleasure to use. It feels soooo luxurious! It would be perfect for those with very dry skin and fine lines around the eyes, as it leaves the skin firm, plump and super soft.

I decided that it was time to start using fake tan again and I noticed that I still had an unopened bottle of Xen-Tan's Dark Lotion left (it is in the old packaging). I forgot how much I love this stuff! It gives me a gorgeous tan, without looking orange or patchy and the formula leaves my skin soft and nourished. I apply it at night, wash it off in the morning and I am left  looking like I just came back from an exotic holiday! My favourite way to apply it is with latex gloves and I usually go for two layers of product for an intense effect and a long lasting colour.

I am obsessed with this palette! I featured it in my Autumn Palettes post and I can't get enough of it! I have been using it every single day, since I received it and I am very impressed with the quality of the shadows  and the colour selection. It is quite reasonably priced (compared to UD Naked palettes) and comes with a big mirror and a brush. I would definitely recommend it for those who like neutral and bronzed eye makeup looks. The matte brown shades (Sultry and Sleek) can be used on eyebrows as well. Perfect!
