Boujrois Happy Light Range - reviewed

More fabulous releases from Bourjois? Yep! They are on a roll! Their Happy Light range was released at the beginning of October and you probably noticed it in your local Boots and Superdrug, or already own some of the new products. I have been trialing the Happy Light Luminous Serum Primer, Foundation and Concealer and as usual, I am very impressed. I have so much love for Bourjois!

The Happy Light Luminous Primer is a very light serum designed to illuminate and hydrate dry and normal skin. There is also a matte version available, suitable for normal to combination skin. The Luminous Serum can be worn alone (if you have perfect skin and want to add a subtle glow) or under foundation. I also tried mixing it with my foundation to make it lighter and it worked really well.

I apply a pea sized amount of the primer onto my face and blend it with my fingers and it instantly adds a lovely glow to my complexion. It has a gel like consistency and it is totally weightless! On top of that, it smoothes skins texture, hydrates and reduces redness and the appearance of pores. Perfect! I am not sure if it prolongs wear of foundation, because mine lasts all day since my skin became more dry :) Overall- fabulous product, perfect for dry and dull skin.

Bourjois Happy Light Foundation* £11.99 (shade 52-Light Beige)

I adore all Bourjois foundations and repurchase them quite often, so this base sounded very promising! It is quite similar to the Healthy Mix Foundation, but it is meant to give a more luminous finish. It contains translucent pigments to 'enhance your inner glow and correct imperfections without masking'. I expected it to be a bit more luminous and dewy, but I really like the way it looks on my skin. It makes me look more radiant and 'fresh' and gives light to medium coverage. I like to apply it with a Real Techniques buffing brush, but it also works well with my fingers. As usual, it lasts on my skin all day, if I set it with a powder - I currently use Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder.

Shade 52 Light Beige in the Happy Light range is surprisingly dark and it is actually darker than my Healthy Mix in shade 53, so make sure to go a shade lighter with this range. I really hope Bourjois starts catering for more skin tones soon, because they do the best (reasonably priced) foundations in my opinion! At the moment, there are only 5 shades available.

Burjois Happy Light Concealer* £8.99 (shade 22 Beige Rose)

Ladies (and gentlemen) I found the perfect under eye concealer! This baby conceals dark circles like no other product I have tried, but... it requires some serious blending. The consistency of the Happy Light Concealer is very thick, so I would recommend warming it up with your fingers before you apply it onto the skin. Once blended (I use a Real Techniques contour brush), it feels very light and doesn't crease at all. You can also apply it with your fingers by gently pressing it into the skin - this way you will get more coverage, but the finish won't be as flawless.

It does a fabulous job at covering blemishes and scars and the coverage is comparable to my Vichy Dermablend sticks. Bourjois also recommend using it as an eye shadow primer and I must admit - it is a brilliant idea and works really well! I got the darker shade - Beige Rose and it is a perfect match for my skin tone , but it is also available in a lighter shade - Vanille Rose.

The Happy Light Concealer is my favourite product from the range and I would definitely recommend it, if you need a high coverage product for camouflaging dark circles and imperfections.

The Happy Light range is available from Boots and Superdrug (currently on the 3 for 2 offer!!!)

PS. You can see me wearing all the products on the second photo.
